Scheibles or Courtneys?

The crab soup is frozen, as are a lot of their entrees...
Courtney's, however, is not.....

I know for a fact that Scheibles crab soup is NOT frozen. A friend and neighbor who has worked there for 32 years uses her own recipe.

I know who you're talking about Scheible's has great food and a nice family atmosphere with great views. IMO they have the best and most reasonably priced breakfast in SOMD. Lunches and dinners are great as well. I have been to Courtney's only once but had good food at a reasonable price.

The true way to figure out if the soup is frozen or not... if it is fresh, you'll find shells in it. I've never had a bowl of fresh crab soup w/out finding a shell or two.

In Ridge across from The Legion. Before you get to Raley's. It changes name on a daily basis so don't count on seeing the sign.

Maybe it's fresh/frozen....Never got that one! If I wanted frozen seafood I would just stay in Waldorf!

Maybe they freeze her recipe? When I worked there, it WAS frozen - but I don't know if it is commercial or not (as well as some of their other seafood dishes frozen as well.....(crab imperial, stuffed shrimp, etc.),

Sorry, keeping up with work, trying not to fall asleep and playing in the forums all at the same time....Courtneys has the best fish sandwich lunch platter ...and the softcrab slammer sandwich is really good too...now my PB and J does not sound so great!! LOL....

All this talk of fine seafood and I'm stuck in VA. I went out for lunch and had to settle for Mickey Dees faux chik samich.

We went there last night and had to eat in the dart room...LOL. Crouded you might say. The crab cakes are great! Did not see Courtneys but did see Spinnakers Restaurant. Looks like a new place but was not open yet. Next time Scheibles will be carry out for us.
