They were stopped by Town Creek today so I stopped to get some ice cream. What is something that I must try? How are their burgers? And what about their breakfast stuff? So many things looked delicious, but I did not give into temptation!

Anyhow, I'm just wondering if some things were better than buying from the grocery store.

I dunno, see them parked in random spots all over with the "Truckload Sale" signs.

I see that too, they have been doing it for a few weeks. I figured the cost of gas has gotten to the point that it is cheaper to park in high traffic areas and let them come to you than it is to drive around aimlessly knocking on doors only to be turned away with no sale.

Never thought of it like that. Good point

ICE CREAM! :yay: They have flavors that you can not find at the grocery stores.

Others - they are okay, but I don't think it is worth throwing $$$ when it taste the same as the one you buy from the grocery store.

Ice cream is reasonable but the rest is way more.

I bought three different ice cream packages and my total was $17. That is equivalent to what I'd spend at the grocery store. Upon looking through the catalog, many, many things are overpriced. If it is good quality, I wouldn't mind splurging every once-in-a-while. Not "every 2-weeks" though.

Their food is "okay." Check the fat content, though. It's high.

I was looking at frozen pizza in the grocery store and one brand...Frechetta, I think?...in the fine print on the label said it was a Schwann's product. Keep meaning to compare prices there, since I know that's pretty good pizza.

Someone I know is doing a fundraiser through Schwann's, where you put in a code and they give a percentage to the non-profit org. So I keep meaning to check them out.

We got an order from Schwan's because my step-daughter's group did it as a fund-raiser. Everything we got was really good. We got some chicken and broccoli, enchiladas, lasagna, cheese biscuits, lemon mini loaves, tater tots, hot dogs and some other things and have enjoyed eating all of it and did not think the prices were that bad. Best of all, we have not had to do any major grocery shopping in awhile. We're getting ready to put in another order. Between them and bulk with BJ's we will really be all set.

I just got a schwans delivery here yesterday. I got an assortment of stuff just to see what I like. Their website is usefull, people review and rate items on it. Lets you know what folks keep coming back for, I baked up the French Baguettes and they were really good just as the reviewers said!

Well, more than a grocery store would be fair, seeing the grocery store doesn't deliver to your front door.

I used to order regularly from them in PA. LOVED their Chicken Cordon Bleu, their Ice Cream.. and few other items I don't remember. Didn't spend a lot of money, maybe $50 every couple of weeks, but enough to keep him coming back, and calling a day or two in advance to tell us when to expect him.

I don't remember trying anything that I didn't like (of the foods I liked in the first place, NO MEATLOAF!!)

I can't imagine those tanks they drive get very good mileage, and I'm sure the fuel comes out of the driver's pocket..
