Screams of dealth

My husband and I woke up about 1-2 in the morning to screams of death. We know a rabbit was being killed and since our cats were tucked in bed, it was most likely by our resident owl.

The screams were horrifying. It is only the 2nd time in my life I have ever heard a rabbit scream like that.

Poor bunny rabbit. :ohwell:

I've never heard a rabbit scream/cry  it sounds like it would scare the chit out of me though :huggy:

Surely you jest ...
Right here at Easter time, is nothing sacred?

Sorry you had to experience that. Nature sometimes seems cruel, but its the circle of life as they say.

Clarice, what did you feel when you heard the anguished screams of the bunny rabbit.

Sorry, the first thing I thought of when I read your post was "Silence of the Lambs", maybe this could be another sequel "Silence of the Rabbits". :lmao:

They make that sound sometimes when they :gossip:

Nope... those screams were a rabbit being killed. I was so mad at my father when I was 10-11 years old. A cat snatched a rabbit in the horse field behind our house and I wanted my dad to save it. He didn't and we stood by the barn and within a minute or so, the screams stopped. The cat killed and ate the bunny. My dad said "it is the circle of life," :blahblah: Now that I am older, I should have know better to ask my hunter father to save a bunny when he commonly killed deer, bear, elks, rabbits, etc., plus the bunnies ate out of the garden so my dad was happy to see one less.

Those screams brought back memories for sure. It is a sound you will never forget if you hear it.

Recordings of rabbits dying are used to call in foxes when fox hunting.

We don't need that :yikes:.... a few months ago, they had a rabid fox come up to a man playing with his children a few doors down from my house. He grabbed a gun & killed it. The Humane Society came out, took the dead fox and tested it for rabies (which is how we know it was rabid).

Better the fox than you and/or yours, right?
