We've been in our house for almost two months and our dog has already broken our screen door. We had the patio sliding glass door open, with the screen door closed. I guess he didn't realize there was a screen there, so he took a flying leap at the door to get outside...knocked the screen right off the track...I think we're just going to not have a screen door.

I feel your pain
Mine 80 + pds jumped out my window after another dog,
screw the screen she said

So basically I am the same, no open windows and no screen doors.
I love the fresh outside air instead of a/c, so today I decide to go on the web and look for something that I could use. I started looking for half screen doors (only screen on the top) and came across those two items.
Just wondering if they willl work or would I just be wasting my money.

I can't see how anything short of those metal fence-like things would work - my pups already can tear through just about anything - and the cats I used to have would tear through anything *eventually*, because they just wouldn't stop. They would keep clawing at something until their claws wore off.

We had someone redo our screens that the shepherds had torn with the super strong stuff. The first time we used them a few weeks ago on the patio doors they tried running out (thinking the door was open - duh!) they hit the screen. Screen popped right off the track - strong stuff didn't break but they now know to hit it just right and they're out! Thinking of some way to run the electric horse wire to the screen

You scoff, but I know someone who actually did run electric wire around their patio door area to keep their rather large dogs at bay. :jameo: Or, perhaps, it was to keep the people coming to their doors at bay. :lmao: It was a little disconcerting, at best, when you went to visit and hit the wire on the way up the stairs. I'm sure it could have been done a better way. :howdy:
