I'm reminded of the Cold War that went on for years and perhaps some similarities to today. Kruschev said "We'll Bury You" and look what happened in the end. Back then we drilled climbing under our desks during drills for nuclear attacks, noone said our intelligence gathering process was unconstitutional, noone said we didn't have an enemy, noone said JFK should have engaged in talks rather than block the soviets from bringing missiles to Cuba, and we were faced with being blown off the face of the earth. We stood as one nation, under God. Now we've got some ragheads saying we'll bury you, politicians saying our intelligence gathering is flawed, Islamic fanatics are not our enemy and we should have talks with them because we want to be friends. The Pope says lets live in peace and houses of religion are blown up. Between Islamic radicals and OUR political radicals I just don't know what this world is coming to. They say history repeats itself, but in todays world with all the ignorant people running it I really don't hold out much hope. These ignorant people also caused our downfall in Viet Nam because they didn't think we had any business being there in the first place. Heaven knows I don't like conflict/war but sometimes it's just necessary. I say don't take names, just go in and kick azz.

It's interesting to note the parallels between our current War on Tara and WWII. The UK and France appeased Hitler in order to avoid war as well - didn't work.
