Segway - Have you tried one?

No offence but, Solomons Island is NOT that big of a place! I know personally that it does not take that long to WALK around the ISLAND. I used to live on the island and how will you be able to check everything out if you 'RIDE BY'?
Just walk! You can check everything out better if you walk! You don't have to worry about someone taking your bike or anything. Besides, it's better exercise.

These things are just FUN. You can scoot around all the back roads and just let loose. We have motorcycles. These were almost more entertaining than the bikes. It's an entirely different mode of transportation, but really fun. And the guy that rents them to you takes about 20 minutes with you in the parking lot BEFORE your hour starts so that you are comfortable on them. Really, it was fun. We'll probably do it again this summer just to giggle. I think I used the word "fun" too much in this post.

I've tried to visit St. Mary's several times but BS Gal and her "biker chick" friends just harass me until I give up and return to the safer confines of Chuck Co.

If you come down to see me, we can go over and rent them. You'll laugh. And he has a place you could put your camera in so you could take some good pictures. Not of me, though.

I wanted to rent them just to see what it was like. BS Gal was riding around in about 3 minutes. I was shown what to do and spent the next 10 minutes oscillating, the guy said most men over compensate and that's what I was doing. I finally got the hang of it and we cruised the back streets. Interesting experience.

I tell you the best place to ever ride one of those would be in an airport...zooming around all the old people and little kids. I get so jealous of security in BWI riding them around!

I don't wrap it when I go to forign countries like that. That way I get to come home with a nice souvenir.
