Selling A Car

Money talks and bull**** walks. Right?

I say this because, about a week ago, my N-D-N's Uncle comes over to take a look. I told him about the car; he drove it; then tells me he would take it; but for just a tad less than I was asking for it; and I expected that.
Haven't heard from him since then.

Yesterday, a different fellow comes by; looks at the car; I tell him about it; and HE took it for a spin. There is a $25 discrepancy (sp?) with regard to what he said he would give me for the car. He said $300; I said $325.
My original asking price was $500; and I knew I wasn't gonna get it.
In my little "brains in a book" that I carry with me, I wrote $325; guy#2 wrote down $300. Either $ figure works for me.
I just need to get rid of the car. It's costing me money sitting in the yard.

I told guy #2 that I needed to check with guy #1 to see if he was still interested, before I let the car go.
So, I talked to his Nephew, who called him and said that I had another interested party. He said money talks.....So, if the second guy shows up today with cash in hand, it's gavel down.

You should always tell guy #1 that if guy #2 shows up with cash in hand before guy #1 the car will go to the man with the cash.

Guy #1 wasn't really interested and guy#2 has now found a different beater.
You're stuck with a car in your yard

Okay, what am I missing?
You just said that 'guy #2 has now found a different beater.'
I take that to mean that I won't be stuck with a car in my yard;" provided he shows up today.

Edit: I have no way of contacting the first gent; but his Nephew lives next door. So, I told him that someone else was interested; he said he would pass the word. He also said, something like, 'well, if this second guy wants it and shows up with the money; and since you haven't heard back from my Uncle; oh well.....

:whoosh:

He said if guy #2 finds ANOTHER beater, and guy #1 doesn't want it, you're stuck with it sitting in your yard.

Tell guy #2 I have a beater I'll sell him if guy #1 takes yours.

Well, the fellow who looked at the car last night told me he would be back tonight. So, if he doesn't come by and doesn't call; then yes, I'm still stuck with the ol' '97 since I haven't heard back from the first guy all last week.

Yeah, but if guy #1 knows guy #2, then guy #1 who has a beater might not need the beater that guy #2 has. Has #2 it in any #1's? Possibly guy #1 is guy #2 and the nephew is the beater which in case guy #1 comes back to see guy #2 both deals from guy #2 and guy #1 will fall apart. So, if are there was into the beater then guy #1 is avoiding said guy #2 to actually buy the beater. Are to the beater actually from back to the water bottle computer guy? I are yes into guy #2 from baseball but battletoad into it.

You better be careful. If you made a verbal contract to sell the car, then sell it to someone else, you could be sued. You better hold on to it.
