Senior female kitty needs home

ArkRescue

Adopt me please !
It breaks my heart to see this happen. The kitty is 15 years old and has been with her owner since she was a kitten.

Guy states he is working for a new company that requires frequent travel and he has to give her up.

She has been around dogs and was fine. He does not know if she gets along with other cats. Most cats that can deal with dogs are usually ok with other cats also.

Need a foster or adopter please. She is adorable!

He also says she is healthy and friendly.

We all know if she ends up at the shelter what would probably happen to her. We are hoping someone can give this girl a good retirement home.

Looks like we may have a home for this cute kitty - I'll let everyone know if that's the case as soon as it happens.

She's doing very well. Already running around the house, following me and our oldest everywhere. She seems to have skin issues - very rough scaly patches all over the back and front of her neck. When we picked her up,the owner said she had recently developed this after he had been away for an extended period on time. Any of you have a thought as to what it could be? I've been told told stress can make a cat's skin and coat go haywire.

it could be a good case of dandruff. Did they have a wood stove burning? I know Ollie likes to be as close to the heat as possible, and he gets dandruff here & there. I give my animals Salmon oil, or Tuna in oil as a special treat. The poor little thing is probably following you around because she's afraid you are going to leave. What's her name?

The guy said he named her Wickett after an Ewok she looks like! I've never seen an Ewok aside from maybe seeing an old movie poster or something, but I'll take his word for it. I wanted to name her something different, but at her age and knowing her name,we're going to keep it as is.

First of all, thank you for taking her in.

I took in an elderly black cat the week before Christmas three years ago. I knew she would be euthanized if I didn't.

There was much trouble getting her acclimated but she was worth it.

I'm glad I didn't see this posting before now. Your baby looks just like my original Gizmo. You have a sweet Himmy on your hands.

She looks very much like our cat who passed a few months ago. Our cat had a brain tumor that was very fast growing and it took her over in a matter of weeks. It was all very sudden. This cat looked so much like ours we hesitated to take her,but went for it. She has only been here a few hours, but acts like she knows the place. She walked out of the carrier as soon as we opened the door, and she greeted our other pets as if she had always known them. Weirdest of all, when she walked into our dog area, she was not barked at even once. She has done a few things that are eerily like our cat who is gone. Certain noises she makes, her gait, etc. I found myself this evening walking upstairs and catching a glimpse of her eating and it was like having our cat back. We all agree it feels like she is back home in a way,and she makes our family feel complete again in a way it hasn't in months.

I am so glad you took her!! I was tempted- she looks like my 20 year old I had euthanized in April. You may want to have her checked over by your vet just to be sure everything is ok due to her age. Blood work can give you lots of info and you can be proactive if anything is borderline. Sometimes abnormal thyroid levels will cause skin conditions. Merry Christmas to you!!

You and she are blessed.
