Settle an argument..

Our new furniture has arrived at the warehouse. Unfortunately it's damaged. Some of the cloth on the main sofa portion was damaged during shipping and needs to be repaired.

My preference is that they deliver it as is, and come repair it when they receive the repair kit (which they have no problem with). Steve's preference is that we live in beige hell for AT LEAST another three weeks and have it delivered when it has been repaired at the warehouse.

I am absolutely correct in my line of thinking am I not? :diva:

I go with Steve's thinking. Otherwise, you have to give up time at work to be there when THEY want to come fix it, and fixing it is NOT something that you want to witness anyway, nor is it a fast process.

Screw that, I'm not having a new sofa built, and waiting for 6-8 weeks for a small tear at the bottom of the sofa. :drama:

:duh: You are such a man. Maybe you guys are not affected by being surrounded by dull neutral colors, but it makes me depressed and cranky. :drama:

And besides, delivering it is a HUGE inconvenience for the furniture place, and since I am inconvenienced by having waited forever anyway, everyone should share have to share in my misery.

If you take possession of it now, you risk the chance that they never come out and perform the repair.

But if the repair is somewhat insignificant and out of sight, then it doesn't really matter too much, huh? Get the sofa now.

If she hasn't seen it yet, how would she know if it was repaired or new? Unless she had it delivered and then waited on another delivery, which they will not do, cuz then they can't sell used furniture, even if they DID repair it. See?

I vote with Steve but only because I know what would happen to that tear at my house: it would start off as a teeny tiny little nothing, then children would sit on it while watching TV and absent-mindedly pick at it until half the upholstery was torn off.

And I say go with new, too, and forget the repair. And make them knock off some $$$ for your time and trouble.

Thanks. She'll listen to you. The rest of us might as well be pissing in the wind.

Oh they'll repair it or they won't see their final payment. :really:

Plus, they are all being really nice about it. They could have just told me to piss off and they'd get it to me whenever they felt like it. (which is the most common customer service you experience around these parts. )
