I don't think they have to notify anyone. There was one on the street across from me for a little bit about 3 months ago. When the kids from the street came over to play, I printed the picture out full page size and sent it home with them and told them to stay away from him. The kids knew exactly who it was and where he lived (needless to say, he didn't stay long). I bet their parents thought I was a nut job! :lmao: Then again, I had never met these parents and their kids played at my house (and still do) everyday! I often feed them dinner also. My kids have never been allowed to their houses because I don't allow my kids to go to houses where I don't know the parents well. I often think of how lucky the parents are that I am ok being as they would have NO IDEA!

It is amazing to me how trusting people are of strangers. My daughter had a sleepover when she was in 1st grade. 6 girls came to the party, we did not know the parents of the kids. 5 kids were dropped off at the door. Only one came in to meet us, they stayed for an hour.

My daughter always gets mad at me when she cannot stay overnight at a party when it is at a house of parents that we do not know. I hope she will understand when she becomes a mom.

Yeah, my kids get upset when I tell them they can't go to their friends house because I don't know the parents. They try to tell me they're ok, but they know it's never gonna happen so they don't try to hard. I think they understand, even if they don't like it. I have explained my reasons to them. Bottom line is simply that I said no. I don't even let them leave our court. For any reason.

I would also look at surrounding counties to see if you recognize anyone. I found out that sex offenders are also not truthful as to their true address.

There is this creepy guy in my old neighborhood. A neighbor and friend of mind stumbled upon his name in the sex offender registry. He had registered as required, but falsified that he lived with his aunt in Charles County even though he has resided in Calvert for many years. She quickly called and had him investigated. The registry was quickly updated to reflect his true residence. :yay:
