Shady Mile Rd reopen to RT4

It was in the Emptyprize this morning...bad, bad rumor. Never was planned. Case of "I heard from a friend of a neighbor who lives down the street from a cousin four times removed from someone who lives there..."

On the afternoon of 1/11/05, the SMC Planning Commission (PC) presented to the SMC Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) a description of the Lexington Park Development District Master Plan (LPDD MP) dated 12/13/04. PC said they are "considering" this Shady Mile Drive/Rt. 4 overpass. The overpass is shown in the 12/13/04 LPDD MP draft, Figure 2-3a on page 17. The 12/13/04 draft LPDD MP can be downloaded from the SMC GOVT web site.

The BOCC will hold a public hearing to receive public comments about the 12/13/04 LPDD MP on 2/22/05 at the SoMD Higher Education Center.

Yeah...I know that..... This thread opened with Shady Mile Dr RECONNECTING to Rt 4, making it an undesirable (for people who live there) cut-through from Rt 235. Connecting to Rt 4 and an overpass are two different animals....
