Shear Image Hair Salon

I originally posted this in the Beauty forum, but this seems to be the most active forum and I'm hoping for some quick responses. I plan to get my hair cut this evening. Sorry for the dp.

Anyone go to Shear Image beauty salon in Charlotte Hall? I usually just go to Unique Chic, but the beauticians at Shear Image seem to be younger so I'm thinking they can give me a more funky hair style. Some of the ones at Unique Chic just seem too old fashioned.

You never have to apologize for that here.

But wait, there's more...
If that's the one in the little strip of shops just a little south of of Charlotte Hall in the southbound lane, that's where I used to get my hair cut. They were okay, but the girls in there were kind of snooty, IMO. But when I'd ask them for input about cutting my hair for my face shape or being creative with ideas for styles/color for me, they just didn't deliver. :ohwell:

Yep, double post. What did you think I meant?

And the 2 of you having the same avatar is confusing. I thought you were talking back and forth to yourself.

Well, her original post describes the chicks as being "younger" and since it's probably been a while since you've been there, I'm thinking your "younger" chicks would now be considered "older" and that would mean she's talking about a different cutting crew who may not be as snooty as your crew was...

One of 'em was the owner or a co-owner; I forget. But they were all fairly young then (less than 2 years ago) ... (mid-20s).

It could be a different crew. But like I said (and the thread starter commented on), when I asked for creative idea/input about cut and color, they really didn't have any, IMO. Some hairstylists are great at picking something out for themselves and making their own hair look great, but when asked to suggest (with knowledge/experience) a cut/color for someone else, they fall short ... that was the case when I went. :ohwell:

I would love to go to a place that would just do what they want and it would look great.

If you're going to take your hair somewhere and totally turn its outcome over to the hairstylist, personally, I'd be willing to come off some bucks and go to a really good, reputable salon. I found a guy here (not that that would help you, but for example) who was able to do what I wanted -- evaluate my face shape, skin tone, etc., and recommend a cut/style and color that complimented ME ... not some model in a magazine. His cuts start at $50 (mine are usually $70), and color starts at $90 ... but IMO, he's worth every penny if you're looking for something individual and complimentary to YOU. :yay:

Not to say you won't/can't find it in Southern Maryland, but you might have better/more options up in DC. There are a lot of ladies on this board who work up there and might be able to recommend someone.
