After 6 1/2 years, ours bit the dust. Too many rounds of washing soaked the circuit board a few times (had it replaced twice) and you can only replace it so many times...a money pit!/QUOTE]

Never heard of a circuit board being in a place where water could come in contact with it.

One way to maintain a properly working dishwasher, is to never "goose" the person standing at the sink.

Made myself laugh.

Consumer Reports says (from top to bottom).

Did Consumer Reports tell you what we were told by several sources - LG electronics fail early in their life. LG (regardless of the appliance) seems to offer the most whiz bang for the buck, but the service tech and the installers confirmed, LG electronics, those "whiz bang features" go fast.

The circuit board, since it's in the panel of controls on the top of the DW, was getting wet from steam coming out of the vent. I saw corrosion when the repair man took it apart. He did not even charge for the call...Felt bad...charged for the part (fair price). Repair guy even said "poor design" Power Failures we had before and during the hurricane, also did not help the circuit board. Normally if it went "off" suddenly, it would blink PF, this time, it went into shock mode and lit up entirely, blinked randomly and would not go off unless I turned off the breaker. Thus it's done. The circuit board is about $200 each fix, so is it really worth it?? Nope.

The other thing is that the agitator on the top spray for the glasses keeps falling off and landing at the bottom mid wash...

I had seen issues mentioned online about potential fire hazards with a few models, so did not want to take a chance...I let the customer service person know that I was aware of this issue. I got a check in the mail shortly!

Many people turn the dishwasher on at night on a timer, then go to sleep..
One family had a fire at night which began and spread quickly through the cabinet before they saw it outside the unit. Melted plastic bowls, etc.
