If I was trying to hide files, I'd zip them into one file, encrypt it, and then split it into small pieces. Then I'd embed those pieces into the metadata of a bunch of vacation photos...that is, if I was smart enough to be able to do that. I know it can be done, but I don't know how to do it.

Finding out that something is there is one thing. They'd still have to figure out how to put it back together and decrypt it.

Knowing who I am IRL isn't that difficult, but I seriously doubt that customs is monitoring me.

That's part of the point. They don't search everyone. They don't have the time or resources to do that.

They do extra searches for a reason. If they had a reason to search the real ylexot, it would be extremely easy to find out that he once posted here. The information here is as close to permanent as it can get.

And they have uber-geeks sitting in cubicles just waiting for the next chance to break an encryption. They're actually very good at it. If they actually cared about you, there's nothing they couldn't find out.

Fortunately, they just don't care about 99.99999% of us.

I guess customs never heard of a smart stick or do they search them too? Do they search CD's? If I slipped a CD into a CD music case or movie case will they search that.?

I think anyone smart enough to use a computer as an agent of a foreign government should be smart enough to get the important info he wants into the country.
