Shower Cleaner

We have one of those bathfitter things. Fiberglass/plastic? I have no clue what it is. What do I use to get the waterspots off the fixtures though?

And we have the stopper in the tub, the kind that twists up and down to hold water or let it out. I don't like it cause when I'm giving Noah a bath is he kicks it it opens, when I open it to drain the water if he kicks it it closes. PITA. Can those things be easily changed out to a regular drain and we can get a rubber stopper?

Depending on what type of stopper you have; some just unscrew on the upper part. I replaced my stopper with a removeable mesh screen hair catcher because it would get clogged every month and was a PITA to get the long hair out. When my daughter wanted to take a bath we just swapped that for a flat plastic disc that suctioned itself to the drain to hold water in.

B's more of a construction man not a plumber. It doesn't just screw off. The top part can be unscrewed but the whole thing won't come off. I haven't been there very long and I'm not even there on a daily basis and I've already clogged the shower up. At least I'm blaming it on myself. It drains but S-L-O-W and giving Noah a bath is a PITA there. I just want the hair catcher and the rubber suction thingy too. Without being able to get the top off we can't even snake the pipes. B's got a 5 day break coming up and getting under the house to look at everything is #1 on his list.

That (the top pluggy part) is the part I removed. I think it got wrecked in the process but I wasn't putting it back on anyway. I left the lower part there. You can find the mesh screens in the kitchen section at Wally World along with the flat plastic discs.

I'll take a look at it tonight. Any suggestions on getting the water spots off the metal. No matter what I use or how hard I scub they won't budge!

Solid white bottle with red or black writing (we are all out, I looked). R said you can get it at Hayden's Auto Supply (there is one on NB 235 on your way home).

He also suggested Greased Lightening and you can get it at Wally World or Food Lion.

I use any type of degreaser to clean the shower, toilet and sink. There are several brands, and even some natural orangey kinds. Just spray it on, let it absorb for a few minutes, then scrub. Hardly any elbow grease involved.

I use Grease Off to clean the shower. Works great on the plastic or fiberglass or whatever it is but does nothing on the water spots. :frown:

If you have a fiberglass shower/tub use turtle wax car soap on it (or something similiar). Wash the walls and stuff down with that every month and it helps with your regular cleaning because everything beads off and washes away.

You might want to try the new Mr Clean Erasers. I found its the only thing to get the texured surface clean without a lot of elbow grease. They are not cheap, so I don't use them very often....maybe that's why I have to scrub... hmmmm.
