A question:

When someone sends you one of those e-mail forwards loaded with made up stuff, twisted "facts", and other non-truths, do you just ignore it? Or do you respond back with Snopes links and cited refutations debunking the crap?

Is it considered rude to do the latter?

I generally reply with an even more outlandish story and always end it with "and thats when the world blew up". Hopefully they understand their mistake then.

I tried letting a friend know he was making an AZZZ out of himself with the totally stupid junk he was sending, posted the Snopes link to him (not a reply to all) and he told me to take care of my own email postings and to leave him the he11 alone.

I figure that once someone posts something that makes them look like the biggest idiot in the world...it's too late. So now I stay out of it, delete it and move on.
