Three Young Children Decapitated in Baltimore

Baltimore (AP) - Police say three children were decapitated inside a northwest Baltimore apartment this afternoon.

Police spokeswoman Officer Nicole Monroe tells The Associated Press that the children's mother came home around 5:40 p.m. and found the decapitated bodies.

All three children were under the age of ten.

Monroe says homicide detectives are speaking to a man she calls a "person of interest." She says the man hasn't been arrested, and no charges have been filed. There's no word on what relationship the man had to the family.


Monroe says the children's mother is Hispanic and speaks little English. Neighbors called 911 after she discovered the bodies

Something is missing from this story.... Was the "person of interest" the baby sitter? Last time I checked somebody had to atleast be 12 to watch the other two, so where's the baby sitter?..... hmmmm..... this is the kinda stuff that pi$$es me off and set's me on a never ending tangent.....

I agree smalltown. I've been in the hood of Baltimore and it is UFB. There are so many more "slum" areas there than you will ever find in D.C. Just imagine being a cop or Parole Officer in Baltimore? I shutter at the thought.

Also, they have an updated article on that link. They still are not saying what relationship this "stranger" had with the kids.

I agree, kids should be supervised at all times, but that's not going to change the fact that they were murdered. If someone has the nerve to decapitate three children, how hard do you think it would be to catch a woman off guard, who speaks very little english, and is also probably not 100% accustomed to "The American Way of Life". It sucks that the kids were murdered, stuff like this shouldn't happen to children, and it takes a real POS to do something like that, but debating about the why's and wherefor's, and blaming the mother for leaving them alone does nothing. Just like when Berg was decapitated, all anyone did was rant and rave about how he should not have been there. What does it matter? They're dead, find the SOB that did it, and let their mother grieve.

The legal age to leave a child unattended is 8 years old. Two of the children were 9 and the other 10. She did not commit a crime leaving the children alone.

Baltimore is really ghetto, that's for sure, but this crime has nothing to do with the economic status of the 'hood. This crime is becoming more and more common….we’ve seen more heinous crimes against children with no signs of decline.

Is it a decline in responsibility of the parents or a sickening mental state of the populous in general?

I pick the sickening mental state of the populous. There is no shock value to anything anymore. Practically anything is "normal" these days. Everybody has seen just about everything in the movies.

These kids were only home for 30 minutes by themselve's.

Yes. Which is why I stand by my belief that murderers/rapists/etc. should be given no second chances or mental health hospital room.

If you try to study the factors of a sick person, you can't do anything to someone who has those same 'genes' until AFTER they've committed a crime, in which case, it's too late, and a waste of time/effort/money.

Just fill 'em with lead.

I also think this probably would have happened even if the mom was home. It just would have been 3 kids and woman decapitated.
