I also think this probably would have happened even if the mom was home. It just would have been 3 kids and woman decapitated.

That depends on the conditions of the attack.............did the guy go into the residence looking to kill children or was he there doing the mother a favor and watching the kids for her when their constant nagging and acting up droving him into a raging killing frenzy?

It will be interesting to see the "status or circumstances" involving the suspect. If it is drugs, just a sicko. I have a feeling that the person who did such a thing has seen the legal system before and I bet that will all come out at some point. There is a reason WHY the police are not giving too much information about the suspect. :twitch:

Probably to spare some politician the embarrassment of the voting public finding out his azz pardoned him or released him for "good conduct". :duh:

:yeahthat: And due to budget cuts, it will come out that some people had 250 parolees to look after when all the legislators got a 38% raise to span 4 years. Yep, that would be my guess.

As I understood it from the news last night, the kids were home less than 30 minutes when mom found them. That tells me that the person was waiting for them and killed them immediately. Also, as I understand it, it wasn't a really bad neighborhood. Poor maybe, but not bad. I lived in Balt. for several years and although I'm not familiar with that particular area, given it's general location, it certainly wasn't the worst area of the city.

From a not so anonymous source:

At a news conference, police identified the suspects as Adan Espinosa Canela, 17, and Policarpio Espinosa, 22. They are cousins and are related to the victims although it was not immediately clear in what way.

The article also says that the mother had directed police to one of these men.

I guess she knew who did it and why.

If she knew it was a likely occurrence, kinda seems like she's negligent in protecting her kids then ... leaving them home alone and all ... regardless of what age the law says they can be to remain unsupervised. :bubble:

Common sense (which I'm sure the defense will argue was on back order) should have been utilized.

 "My client is not guilty because my client told the mother he was going to kill her kids. Therefore, the mother was negligent in not protecting them and the children died as a result."

how did the mother know to send the cops to these two pseudo-relatives? If it happened when she wasn't home, and the kids can't speak for themselves, how'd she know it was them? She had to suspect that something was going on/down to name them to the police.

Using your 'example', if someone told you they were gonna come kill your kids, would you leave 'em home alone if they were of the legal age?

I didn't dispute that part. I just question how the defense can use lack of common sense on the mother's part as an argument.

The mother was on trial in the 'scenario' I posted.
