Signs of the Times?

What do you think are 'signs of the times, end of days, pre-trib, etc'.
Post 'em!

Here's one to start with, that I just came across this morning. I honestly had no idea this was happening. Yes, I live under a rock these days.

Civil Forfeiture

How cops take millions from motorists not charged with crimes

edited to add: even if you're not interested in the topic, you should watch the video. Funny.

The Temple being rebuilt without the Court of the Gentiles, because that part of the temple is where the Dome of the Rock is now.

Either your statement is a little vague, or I'm not on the same page. Are you saying that they have begun construction on the temple?

Actually, no it's not. Archealogical evidence shows that it's down the hill and to the right, which is nothing but an empty field right now. Isn't that neat?

I think the bigger quandry would be the Messiah entering the city through the gate that's blocked by a burial ground.

No they are saying that would be their sign.

Well, when it is in the news, yes. I guess I wasn't clear about the direction of the thread. I'm really bad about that. I was interested in what (you) see happening in the news now that would be a sign of the times.

As for me, I think it began with 9/11. To me that was G-d saying repent - repent. Turn back to G-d - stop turning away from him.

Isaiah 9:10

Hosea 8:14

Malachi 1:4

Pick up any paper, or watch the news and you will see much of Matthew 24 6-9:
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

and I think all of this in 2 Timothy 3:
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Interesting. So, do you think God is only sending a message to the West? And, do you think God is using Islam to do that?

I think most people know this. I'm interested in what's in the headlines that's a reflection of those passages.

For me, I got my eye on Temple Mount.
In particular I'm wary of the destruction of the Dome of the Rock, and the rebuilding of the Temple there.
The destruction of the Wailing Wall.
A seven year treaty/pact/contract with Israel
Two hooligans stirring up trouble in Jerusalem.

(None of those things have happened, and I'm fairly secure in my belief that The Apocalypse is not upon us)

I'm curious how you got there, from her post.

9/11 was an Islamic/Muslim attack against the West for whatever their resentments/reasons were. So it seems to me, if she thinks 9/11 is a sign of the times and God is telling people to repent, then that implies He is sending the message to the West and is using Islam to do it. In addition, could we assume that all terrorist acts against the West and Westerners are a message from God?

I think you're making an assumption that she meant it was a message for the west. I think it's a message for all.

I'm waiting to hear about those things, too. Have you come across anything in the news?

Ok, so a message for all. Does that still mean that God is using Islam to do this? If so, what do you think that implies?

First stab at it, I'd say that the attacks are one of the things that must occur before the end. It's hard to say that God is using them, when it would seem more likely that satan would be the one using them. I don't think God wants any of the horrors we're seeing.

So, can we get back to the original topic of the thread?

Yes and no. I have a ton of thoughts and I'll see if I can be clear on a very muddy subject.

You know how you can serve a purpose without actually knowing you do? Sometimes you do things just because you were supposed to.

I think the "extremist" Muslims that are trying to establish a caliphate and killing anybody (regardless of where they are from - look at the beheadings) are doing so because they are supposed to be doing so.

I think this is just a step, one of many, on the path that was laid out long before you or I were born.

Also, 9/11 didn't just effect "Americans" nor kill only "Americans". It resounded around the world.

So you have the opportunity to choose sides in a battle right now - let's call it good versus evil, and you pick apathy. Imho, apathy is evil.

There was a huge resurgence of Christianity and people going to churches all around the world after 9/11, which tapered off and people forgot about what drove them there in the first place.

History has a way of repeating itself and we've seen this particular behavior in the passages I listed before. A calling to G-d. A calling to repent.

The difference is this time around is a Caliphate. We will all be slaughtered if the "extreme" Muslims have their way, unless of course we convert, and deny our G-d. That's what they are already doing in countries under their control.

I saw an interview with Meriam Yehya Ibrahim. She refused to deny G-d, even through all the trials and tribulations the "extremist" Muslims put her through.

However, it's not over yet and according to the bible we are supposed to hear the crying of the saints and martyrs.

 Sure!

I think there have been signs that have come and gone ever since Jesus died and ascended. Just about every generation thought they were it. Although it's kind of fun to play at interpreting prophecy while watching the news, I don't really give it much thought or dwell on it these days. All that does it get me worked up about something I can't control.

Carry on...

Ishmael. Do you remember Ishmael from the Bible? What was the promise G-d made to him? Who did Ishmael become?

I think things were sent into motion long before any of us came about, but the history of the bible is relevant today.
