Yes and I just puchased a 2021 morgan with the cc privy mark they only minted 175,000 of them
Thats interesting but i'm not a collector myself. This is just something I started with money I didnt spend before I left gun shows as a young man that I kept doing.

Those are for numismatic collectors. With the lowest price I could find, on Ebay, around $225, (the US Mint being sold out at $85), one could get about 8 oz in silver rounds, or about 6+ oz of the 2022 American Silver Eagles Brilliant Uncirculated. Not sure if there will be a fair market for those CC Morgans in a SHTF scenario since the Carson City mint hasn't produced any coins since 1893 . Not being critical, just practical. But if you can afford them, and just appreciate them for what they are, as a collector, hats off to acquiring one.
One 2021 MS70 NGC certified not cheap but had to have it Morgan and my next 1 will be a MS70 Peace dollar I have a collection of old Morgans and Peace dollars plus Silver Eagles the old coins I really like just because you never know who held them and they are beautiful I will pass them on to my grandkids when they get older and hopefully they will enjoy them as much as I do

I get it,
I have always done modern coins, alot of the times what I buy come from a box that they get right from the mint. I tend to buy by the sleeve from them a few times a year. Im not J Paul Getty.
When I buy say from an unknown, I have a Dillon digital scale I use along with a magnet and do a drop "ring" test.
I have never seen a fake... If I saw one, I might buy one just to have it..

The scale I would believe tells all....
Drop ring test I have heard of that but do not know if I would trust my ears as much as a scale and NGC or the other company

Drop a sandwich quarter then drop a silver quarter.
Its very noticeable.
And we both agree, the scale tells all.
Yup. The silver has a ting type sound, and the sandwich ones have a dull thud sound. In other words, the silver sings, even when flipping them when hit with the nail of your thumb to begin the flip.

I shall try that tonight I have some quarters from the late 30's early 40's I found while metal detecting against the clads in my pocket

I saw a fake Kruggerand at a dealers place in a NGC sealed and numbered container. It looked real to me but he pointed out the flaws. His wife bought it for him at a good price.

Check out auctions locally but you'll have to factor in the buyers premium.
