Single Parent Group

Hi, I'm Leslie and a single mom to two!

I'm interested in starting up a single parent group in St. Mary's County.

The goal would be for the parents to get together once a month and meet other people that may be going through the same things as you. Meet friends. Gain a support system. Enlarge your babysitting circle. Discuss with others specific issues to get advice. Be a mentor and help give advice. And have some adult time. This would not be a dating group for the purpose of meeting partners.

I'd also want to have family outings with the kids. Baseball games, canoe trips, camping, etc.

Anyone else interested in participating? If so, post up a good day of the week for you to attend. I'll try to take the majority and see when we can have the first meeting. Babysitting will be available. PM me for specifics. I'm hoping for a dynamic group so whether you are a new single parent or an old pro I think this could be a great opportunity!

I checked their web site and they don't have a group in this area, plus they also have dues and such, i think Leslie is looking to form a less formal organization set up more for getting single parents together and sharing ideas, knowledge and real-life experiences, not to mention just getting together with people who are going thru the same things you may be. Good idea and good luck "Sheldon" !!!!!
