From an incident I listened to on the scanner today. The initial call came in at 1:16 PM, not 2:30.


Around 2:30 PM today Joy Lane off of 235 was shutdown due to unconfirmed toxins within the area. According to one witness on the scene, a newly installed pool was leaking toxic fumes which caused two individuals to become sick. Witnesses also said a strange odor was emitted from the pool. Hazmat is in full gear and is on site. The Bay Net reporters are currently on scene and will report when more information is available.

At 5:30 this afternoon, Hollywood Fire Chief Dennis Brady confirmed with The Baynet that all test results for radioactive material came up negative.

Sometime around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, Friday December 5, Hollywood resident, Elizabeth Coombs, called her local fire department to report what she suspected to be a nuclear contamination in the area. Hollywood Fire Chief, Dennis Brady, Sr. called in specialist units from Calvert Cliffs to investigate.

During an interview with The Bay Net’s Lewis Russell, Coombs described her fears and strange illnesses that have been developing since mid-September, when Coombs had a pool installed at her home. When they hit rock after only seven feet, they had to begin some heavy excavation to reach the desired 10 ft depth for the pool. Since that rock was broken, Ms. Coombs has been repeatedly sick, she told The Bay Net.

According to Combs she has had multi-organ ailments and has visited the doctor several times since her yard was excavated. She began to suspect she had radiation poisoning from radon gas, a derivative of Uranium, released when the rock-bed was broken.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Sheriff Tim Cameron confirmed to The Bay Net there is a specialist from Calvert Cliffs investigating the residence of Elizabeth Combs, on Joy Lane, in Hollywood. Nuclear material has not yet been confirmed in the area, but the lane remained closed on Friday afternoon.
