sirus radio free until 12/3

They are offering free service until 12/3, worked in my car! I hope the info may improve the trip for some who may be driving a distance over the holiday.

SXM will do almost anything to get/keep customers. I'd had their service for six or seven years and finally got tired of the amount I was paying for just a few channels to which I actually listened (two cars at something like $15/month adds up quick).

After a half hour of explaining several times that yes, I really DID want to cancel, they finally said "Oh, you're a really valued customer and we're sure you'll change your mind. In fact, we'll give you two extra free months before you cancel." And the next agent up the food chain told me the same thing each time I insisted that YES, I REALLY did want to cancel. They were clearly hoping that I'd forget to call and cancel again. Which I did NOT forget; I put it on my calendar and enjoyed the two free months. At the end, it took another good half hour of escalating up the supervisor chain until they finally agreed to remove me from their services. And I still get a couple free offers a month. Of course, if you read the offer, you find that you'll have to give a credit card up front, and if you don't call and cancel, they'll bill you for a year of new services.

Nothing scammy or scummy going on, just good hard-sell business. But don't get yourself into the ecosystem if you have ANY doubt of your desire to stay in it.

On the other hand, if you really want it, play the system for all they've got. You can wrangle at least four free months out of them - two at the beginning, and a year later, two more while you "think" about whether or not you really want to cancel.
