Having said that, I don't know how many of my students worked there summers over the years, many for several years running. Some of the jobs were a bit exploitative and some were just normal park type jobs.

Define Exploitive .... what county were ' your ' students from ?

Most employees were Black along with foreign exchange Students one yr we had a bunch of girls from Ukraine the next Chinese

Hiring few if anyone under 18 because of the labor restrictions on 16 - 17 yr olds

Prince George's, no exchange students that I know of. I've been retired ten years so they would precede that. From what some of the kids told me some of the concessions had some strange wage requirements (low base and then commission).

Actually likely longer than ten years ago. The last several years many of the kids weren't allowed to have summer jobs by their parents unless it was some FedGov office job. Hell, most of them weren't allowed to get their driver's license.

And yeah since the problems of the 90's Whites think the Park is Ghetto and would rather drive several hours to Kings Dominion in VA .. then 40 min to Six Flags

I only went to the park once or twice in late 80s/early 90s and remember how dirty and dark it was. I never went back. But of course the last time I was @ Kings Dominion (5 years ago), things had changed there as well, and not for the better IMO.

Went to Kings Dominion the year it opened. Parents would get a room at the Best Western for the weekend. Did this for several years. My my how time and politics and greed has destroyed that place. It isn't Kings Dominion without the Rebel Yell, the Steam Train, the Lion Country Safari Monorail, or the Sky Ride Cable Cars (Gondolas) that would take you from one end of the park to the other that gave ya a chance to chill and rest while looking over the park. In addition to the ghetto creatures that now venture there to ruin everyone's enjoyment of the place.

My ex's company used to rent out the entire park for their company picnic, back in the late 90's, early 2000. Catered lunch was included. We had a great time.

She was a chubby late 40s- early 50's woman, she was very nice to all of us. I do t recall her name.
She gave all the guys on the job two or three tickets each, to get in free.
