Skidoosh!

Congrats to the 'Skins though. They got the first touchdown that the Ravens have given up in, like, two hundred years.

The Pirates?!?!

First of all, baseball is gay. Secondly, Pittsburgh has no major league baseball team.

Thirdly, Sidney Crosby has repeatedly #####-slapped the Flyers into submission. Most recently demonstrated by the domination of the Cryers being Crushed by the Penguins in last year's playoffs.

If gay baseball makes Philly fans proud...well...there's a reason for that.

:poorbaby:.you must have been afraid of the ball....:killingme

Would have been funny for you to have told Ty Cobb or Dizzy Dean that they were gay......:coffee:

...I find that stunning given that the ONLY reason Gibbs came back is because Snyder bribed him into it, making him, by far, the highest paid coach at the time.

:tap:

I thought this deserved another reply Larry. This comment only substantiates my point that Snyder thinks he can throw money at a team, believing that is the solution to winning. This whole equation has resulted in nothing more than a bunch of spoiled, rich individuals occupying space on the football field. Don't get me wrong, this is the first year I've actually seen a glimmer of hope. I'm excited to see what Zorn produces in the following years (if Snyder can remain patient enough to keep him). But I'm still not seeing any team leadership. Just a bunch of individuals.

...you started this by suggesting Gibbs for owner. My point was he only came back to football for the money. How is that any better than Snyder?

For this year, Vinny needs to quit drafting punters, quit picking up people like Jason Taylor which is a fatal waste of draft picks and cut loose some long time but passed expiration players. Washington, Smoot, Springs. And, if he can trade some premier guys for a good bunch of picks, do that too. I'd hate to lose Samuels, but the line is DONE and needs to be rebuilt; draft picks.

I’m pretty sure Gibbs came back for the money. This could imply that he really didn’t care as much about winning. So I guess it doesn’t make him any better than Snyder, and, again, it all-the-more substantiates my point the problem of believing that money is going to make a winning team.

I agree with the O line. The first person they need to replace is Jansen. There is no protection for Campbell at all. But part of the problem is Campbell’s inability to get rid of the ball quickly. I really think Campbell is the wrong QB for Zorn’s style. But I’m certain there are contractual issues that will force Zorn to figure out a way to use him.

You're going have a hard time convincing me that Snyder isn't 90% of the problem. He wont just sit back and be an owner. He wants to meddle in the affairs on the field.

Joe came back for two reasons; One, the money, two, Snyders agreement that Joe could experiment with how a team runs. Thus the 562 coaches, assistants and the guy in charge of assisting the guy in charge of red flag throwing quality control.

Jason is still operating under his origianl deal; Campbell's six-year contract expires after the 2010 season. Various Redskins sources indicate he is making a base salary of about $1.2 million this year.

I never tried for one second to convince anyone that Snyder isn't the problem. However, he is far more guilty of trying to hard than not trying hard enough. He's a lot like George W. Bush; he cares an awful lot but doesn't have a clue of what he's doing.

Difference being it's Snyder's baby; he can do as he sees fit and everyone still goes home at the end of the day.

I went with a Ravens fan friend and froze my butt in M & T Stadium. It would have been worth it, if the Skins had shown some of the gumption and fight they used to have but it was more of a number of nightmare scenarios that reminded me of why they recently always put themselves in position where they DO NOT control their own destiny.
Granted they won Superbowls, but it should be remembered the old joke was that if there was a players strike, then the Skins had a decent shot if not shortened season. The Fiasco against the Raiders was outstanding mainly because they had indeed completed a fairly successful season to make it sans the shortened season, while the Superbowl against Buffalo underlined that they were legit, but it seems the season after every SB they played in was a disappointment as well as an exercise in futility.
One sad note from last night, IMHO, was that they lacked both the heart and talent to win. Money can buy a team, but not any of those .
There are hungry players on the team. Collins and Brennan deserve their chance, So do many of the others who "lack star status". Forget the millionaire divas, give the others the chance they deserve. Maybe in them we will find the heart that is so lacking.

As much as I realize it will never happen, the fans could easily put Snyder out of business. So whose baby is it really?

Snyder actually grew up a long-time Redskins fan and perhaps that's the problem. A fan can't own a team.

At least he's better than Jerry Jones calling out his tough running back for not being tough. Jerry should just be coach already.
