I wonder when they'll get their first jumper?
How long would it take before you splatted?
I wonder if they'll build a bungie jump next?
Who cleans the bottom of the glass?
I emailed the link to my mom and tht was the first thing she said, "Those walls aren't high enough to keep someone from jumping." I explained to her the 99.9% of the canyon is unprotected and that if you wanted to off yourself by jumping there is noone or nothing to stop you.

We were there this past summer. While a group of us was standing around listening to a park ranger tell us some stories of the canyon, someone shreeked when she noticed three young punks scaling down the face of cliff to get to a ledge below. The ranger looked over at them, winced, and turned back around and said, "This is America. I cannot save them from their own stupidity. I have no authority to tell them to stop. All I can do is call in a recovery team if one of them should go over." Then he went on with the rest of his story.

Large!!
In the whole history of the canyon there have only been 47 known suicides. I'm guessing it's too far out of the way to attract jumpers. I can't see thinking, "I'm going to kill myself, hmm, how? I know, I'll jump off the edge of the Grand Canyon, I can be there in 7 hours."

Yet at Calvert Cliffs you are forbidden to go in the water or up the cliffs. Too dangerous. :jameo:

The cliffs do crumble and a teacher did die many years ago at the Lusby State Park section, so that does make sence..afterall, the entire cliff is clay. But forbidden to go into the water?? Why?
Might slip and fall and get wet? Get stung by nettles? Step on broken glass?
I give up..why is it forbidden to go into the water?

They don't want us to have any fun. MD is a state that doesn't trust people to take care of themselves.

Because the PG residents have proven they can't take care of themselves. And then it rubs off on everyone else.

:yikes:

:faint: No way, no how. It was bad enough standing at an overlook looking down when I went a few years ago.

I wonder how much they charge to rescue people who get out there and freeze? :jameo:
