I need to find someone who can fix a troybuilt weed eater (trimmer). The warrenty is up and we didn't want to have to go buy a new one. It's only a little over a year old.
Help please.

Check the head to be sure the head bolts have not loosened up. Typically and allen wrench to tighten them up. Mine has come loose a couple times.

If the head isn't loose it could be the magneto. Take the spark plug wire off and stick your pinky in there and then pull the cord a couple times. When you are done post what it felt like and I will tell you if the magneto is good or not. :yay:

If it's one of the $60 or there about ones, it's not going to be worth PAYING to fix, not at this time of year.

Can you describe the problem for us?

Where is the henyard and third base?

Its in Loveville, about 3 or 4 miles north of Leonardtown on Rt 5
The Loveville Post Office is right in front of Dave's Engine, just use the same driveway as the Post Office is on but go back by the barn.

If Dave is too busy you could try Ambrose Morgan, his place is right across from the Oakville Transfer Station on Sandgates road.

:howdy: There is also Milt's, it's not even a quarter of a mile from Rte.235 on Friendship School Road on the right hand side of the road. He's a Stihl and Husquevarna dealer but between him and his son Anthony they can fix just about anything. He has always been good to us. They are Menenites, very honest,up front, and fair in price. :buddies:

Hey Pete,
After reading these Forums for almost a year, I'm willing to bet that your 'head bolts' are NOT the only things that have come loose " a couple of times" and it takes more than an allen wrench to fix!:lmao:

:flowers:Thanks all! I will try those. We called a few others and they don't work on them. It did cost over $100 dollars and is a little over a year old or we would just get a new one. Hopefully someone will be able to fix it. My husband has tried everything else. It gets gas and a spark but still won't run. Thanks again!

Oh and I did notice my typo but it was too late when I saw it.

Check the head bolts :yay: Don't stick your pinkey in the spark plug wire and pull the cord, I was joking and it will hurt a lot.
