Smartco

I volunteered at SMARTCO last night. Neat operation they have. Learned a bit about computers. Earned a laptop for my Cub Scout Pack.:yahoo:

If any kids need service hours for graduation, I recommend they volunteer at SMARTCO.

What is SMARTCO and where is it?
Non-profit that takes guvment surplus computers, refurbs them and gives them to other non-profits such as schools.

They are in the back of the shopping center where Biglots is. The back of their building is the Hopyard.

Wednesday's are there volunteer night. That's when some do community service and others volunteer like you did to earn hours and earn a pc or what ever. I did it for a long time in the past. I'm heading down there today as a matter of fact. Looking for a replacement power supply for a laptop.
Since I volunteer at Sotterley I get parts for free.

You know what their hours are? I wouldn't mind stopping by here and there when I have the time if they need some additional man-power. I don't need the classes, but I wouldn't mind giving a hand if/when I can.

Volunteer day is Wednesday. 3pm - 9ish. You can stop by anytime during the week after 12 and sign up for Wednesday. You build hours/credit so there is a log you will sign in/out to help keep track. Your volunteer time, will be put towards something like a pc/laptop etc you might want. Or just give the time.
You'll enjoy it.

I just left there and succeeded in getting a new/used AC adapter for my laptop that blew some how :yahoo:

Reading comprehension is your friend.

I volunteered there in order to get a laptop.

Haven't gotten a speeding ticket in 4(?) years. Did community service for that one at the Benedict fire department.

when you say you can volunteer for x hours and work towards a comp, how current is the comp?

Like is it worth it, or is it building yourself a Pentium III boat anchor?

just curious.

I'm sure the laptop that Huntr got is a sufficient since it's being used for the Cub Scouts.

It's always worth it when you volunteer.
