They're out to get us
Nope no break for me! And I still have shopping to do and things to get ready oh yeah and I have to work too :cds:

Now who's fault is that? Your kids were in school! You had your chance you lazy person. Schools are allowed to take some time off too!!

glitch -- 5 snow days and they're using 2 of them before winter sets in? It starts tomorrow! :jameo:

socki, I don't blame them for making this call at all. Even if the contractors get the parking lots cleared by the end of today, the amount of snow combined with constant subfreezing temps are keeping the parking lots and sidewalks hazardous the next couple mornings. I wouldn't want to leave myself open for you to sue when little Billy Bob or Peggy Sue end up in a ditch on the way to school or break an arm while heading from the bus to the building.

This is a sorry statement; I got up and made coffee about 1/2 hr ago and now I am sitting here in front of my laptop while my S.O. is outside shoveling the driveway, the last two years of training have paid off well, if I could only teach the dog.............. (she just created an account on here the other day, wait til she reads this):lmao:

That's what they have 2 hour delays for.

It's not just able bodied children they need to worry about. Think about some of the children with more significant disabilities. The ice/snow makes things extremely hazardous for them. You ever tried getting a 300+ pound motorized wheelchair unstuck?

:roflmao: Well mine slept until 2:30 yesterday and never touched the shovel.. but I was up by 8 and I shoveled all day. I am getting ready to start again and he is still sleeping!

And I quoted this to make sure she can see it when she gets a break to log in!

At least you have a shovel. I'm going to be trying to dig my car out with a cookie sheet. Grabbed everything else I needed but forgot a shovel. :smack:

State of Emergency

The site is real and it's correct. The kids already have plenty of time off this year. Wonder how many snow days they were given. It would be a damn shame if SMCPS used them all up early and they got stuck going to school even later in June then they're already scheduled to.

If its declared a state of Emergency, the governor can 'forgive' snow days and not have them count against the end of the school year. Its happened several times before. And considering the rest of the state, I'm guessing he'll be doing that.

I'm getting ready to head outside too, first I have to put my clothes in the dryer. Prioritize...

Good call. I didn't even think about that.

I really hope that's the case. I think the last day of school is June 17th as it is.
