smh is really screwed up. I went in to have some tests done in the radiology department yesterday and the doctor wanted them read urgently and guess what my doctor never got the results. I called this am and the lady said the doctor said to read them normal and I said no she had a rush put on them as she put stat (which means read them right now not 4 days from now) so I don't have to wait a week to see what is going on with me and she then said maybe we will read them today. I think smh radiology department needs to learn to read and do things right way (read the prescription fully instead of skiming them) and saying ah who cares maybe we will do as we please instead of what the doctor ordered.

Maybe you aren't the only one that had tests done?? Maybe everything isn't always about you.

I know i am not the only one who had tests done. I don't get why the ignored that the doctor wanted it read the same day that is all I don't get why they ignored doctors orders. My doctors office won't call. they told me to call which i thought was bs. They won't listen to me they probably would listen to my doctor though so i guess i will be waiting a week due to smh not having people who know how to read working for them.

Then it sounds like it's not as urgent as you are making it out to be. Maybe you want the results fast, but the doctor isn't the worried about it.

They always read mine right away. :shrug: What kind of xray did you have done?

You need to find a new doctor. I worked for a doctor and we would never tell the patient it was up to them to get results from any lab, etc. It is totally up to the doctor's office to get results. Normally labs won't give info to patients, they want to give it to the doctors to avoid any confusion or giving info to someone who should not be getting it. Maybe I'm wrong.

the doctor is worried as i have had this health issue for over 2 months and she wants to kknow what is causing it. She has been running test after test til we get the answers we need as to what is causing this.

How would you feel if you couldn't eat anything without being sick?

I've been there done that.


But my doctors were worried enough to make sure they got the labs back. Not me.

they aren't sure what it is (they said my gallbladder was fine when i had that sonagram done a few weeks ago). I all I can say is its lower right quarderant pain. The doctor is testing everything til we get an answer because I can't eat hardly anythign without being sick.

If you were that worried about it you would call the Dr office every 10 min till they get your tests back.

they told me they would call me when i said i will call backk at lunchtime so I guess I will just leave them alone so they don't get pissed because i am calling and want answers.

Yeah, way to get what you want, be a royal PIA. Its been 2 months, she will survive a little longer with it.
The Doc should have sent her to a specialist already, he is just ####ing her insurance company out of money now having these test done.

:yeahthat: When I went to have my ankle X-Ray, the doc wrote "ASAP" and "Call with Results" on the script. As soon as the tech took the pictures, she told me to have a seat in the waiting room till she had someone read them. Next thing I knew, the receptionist told me my docs office was on the phone, and they told me to go directly to the ER for a cast. I've never had a problem with the X-Ray deptartment at SMH.
