Since I am on a 10 day course of antibiotics, I wanted to incorporate a lot of yogurt into my diet. The result is not only have I had no stomach issues, I think I am becoming addicted to smoothies. There has been a lot of good fresh fruit at Giant and I also have frozen mango and sometimes use canned pineapple and some juice. I am rotating between bananas, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, oranges, plain and sometimes flavored greek yogurt. Plus I picked up some organic pumpkin flax granola for added fiber and crunch. They have been very filling and are easy to make.
Yum.

I start with a little V8 juice add spinach carrots and an orange or an apple and of course yogurt and blend until smooth. All my vegetables pretty much for the day in one drink. You can also add sprouts for an extra vitamin kick.
We grind fresh flax seed and stir it into the smoothie.

Never thought of tofu it is a logical choice.

Veggies, huh? Have not experimented with them yet. I do eat a lot of raw veggies during the day. Red peppers have been in abundance at the store- and affordable.
And I do have some old apples in the fridge...had not thought to use them in the blender.
Where do you buy fresh flax seed?

A couple of ice cubes, 1% milk, carton of light fat-free yogurt, 1/2 banana, 1/4 c. or so of fresh or frozen fruit and 2 Tbsp. ground flax seed. I switch up the yogurt flavors and frozen fruit. Mmmm, Mmmm good!

those all sound amazing!

You can get whole flax seeds pretty much anywhere you can get ground flax seeds. Typically they are merchandised right next to each other. Two brands I know of off hand are Spectrum and Arrowhead Mills. Just make sure that the package says either 'Whole Flaxseed' or just simply 'flax seed'.

Places like Wegmans, Whole Foods and MOM's Organic Market usually sell Flax in bulk as well.

Also, to supplement veggies in your smoothies, consider getting a powered greens product. There are several available in a wide range of flavors and prices. They are usually chock full of wheatgrass, Spirulina, spinach, kale, etc. Not only that, but they are convenient, quick and last a while.
