Well, Ive done what I can to minimize this, folks. Got the snow blade mounted, fresh battery, fresh 40lb bag of snow melt, shovels ready, fast car tucked back, 4x4 truck to the fore.

Good luck...I don't think anyone was prepared for this much accumulation...

I measured a few times today...latest I have is 10" on a completely flat surface on my back patio....Its much higher in the drifts and such.

Nice and convenient for a cooler though, as previously posted!

These were my brews of choice this evening (sorry its not 10oz)

I was......speak for yourself.

So was I:) My drink this evening is some Troeg Dream Weaver.:buddies:

No idea how much we have at our house. The wind has been blowing pretty good off the creek. Some spots on the deck and the grass are bare and then a few feet away it all turns into a huge snow drift.

I really thought that the local stations would have been broadcasting throughout the day. Only channel 4 had news until 11am. Since then I haven't found any real local info, just infomercials, cartoons etc. TWC has spent all day reporting from Charlotte and Greensboro, I was hoping for something a bit closer to us.

We have @ 13" here in PP-- SGI-= @ 9-10"

I am looking at 8 to 12 here...Main thing for me this morning is to see that bright sun coming up...It looks great....

Ended up being about 2 more inches here, just finished plowing it out. That snow blade was worth every penny. Turns a hour and half job (10' wide, 140 driveway) into 15 minutes.

That blade right there. Looks a bit cheesey, I admit, but it swivels right of left easily and locks in, so you can push to the sides, raises and lower easy also. If you dont have a John Deere earth mover, not a bad way to go. And no, I dont have the snow cab, although if I lived in the north I would:)

Measured 11" here, drifts were significantly higher.

Yep, this snow was very light and fluffy, powder snow. We have some pretty good drifts, up to about 2 1/2 foot, with flat surface undrifted depth of 10". Wind was blowing pretty good last night.

We got maybe 5",but that is 5 more then I wanted to see.I guess it could be worst,I could be up there.

I seen that too, well rain/snow/wind on Saturday and snow showers Sunday. Didn't see anywhere about how much though. Just the 10 day forecast. We still got a few more days for it to possibly change to just rain or something else. Who knows.

6:00 AM MONDAY 2.1.2010 Now is that any way to start what may be a Fantastic February? (that is, unless you are with state highway administration crews!) If you saw some of the current text reports coming from NOAA's HPC in Camp Springs, MD - you'd think we were once again hyping storm potential for the sake of ratings. Suffice to say what may be coming in the Friday-Sunday time frame could rival the Superbowl for intensity and coverage. If you have weekend plans, such as attending the annual MAEOE environmental science conference in Rocky Gap, MD ; better keep a close eye on this storm potential. For a glimpse, let's just leave here this snippet of their original ideas posted by HPC on Sunday afternoon 1.31:
1:56 PM SUN 31 JANUARY 2010:
HVY RAINFALL SHOULD BREAK OUT ACROSS TX WED AND SPREAD EWD ACROSS THE GULF COAST INTO MUCH OF FL/GA/SC AND NC THURS TO FRI. HVY RAINFALL WITH FREEZING PCPN POTENTIAL WELL INLAND IN THE APPLCHNS AND FOOTHILLS FRI AND SAT AS HVY RAIN SPREADS INTO ERN NC/VA. HVY PCPN EVENT SEEMS LIKELY FOR THE MID ATLC REGION SAT VERY POSSIBLY INTO SUN SPREADING NORTH AND NORTHEASTWARD. A SIGNIFICANT WINTER WEATHER THREAT IS POSSIBLE. HIGHER CONFIDENCE IN THE STRONG ONSHORE WIND CONSENSUS FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME ALONG THE SOUTHEAST AND MID ATLC SEABOARD WITH OCEAN OVER WASH/BEACH EROSION/COASTAL FLOODING FRIDAY INTO SUNDAY.

That's not a bad idea. It'll certainly fit on my tractor and the price isn't too steep either. Of course, as soon as I buy it, there will be no more snow.
