Snow tubing?

Could someone tell me where the nearest resorts are for snow tubing? I have heard of Massanuten, but believe it is almost three hours away. Are there any closer?

Thanks!

Seven Springs has tubing - they have a lot of activities but it's probably about the same distance!

Wisp.

750ft. long hill. Conveyor to drag you to the top. Bathrooms, bar, snacks, etc. at the bottom of the hill.

I was just up there this past weekend.

Never heard of it so I just looked it up. Now I want to go but unfortunately, my husband is not the "weekend getaway" type of guy. :cds:

Did the tube hill at Massanutten this past summer.

I think the nearest is going to be about the far away, regardless of where you go.

Gotta love Southern Maryland... Two ways in and only two ways out! Neither is convenient to get anywhere. Gotta tack about 2 hours onto any trip outside MD or VA. And we have some of the highest personal and property taxes in the state. Just gotta love it here!

And you'll likely spend the majority of that time just leaving Southern Maryland

We went to Liberty yesterday. It is just a bit under 3 hours. Fun. If you go, look up their nonlinear "6 pack" tickets for a slight discount.

In order to go snow tubing, you have to have snow. We are too far south and surrounded by water in order to have the kind of snow you need for that (on a regular basis). The places already named all all good, but I've been snow tubing at Massanutten, and it's a blast!

3 hours to the mountains to be where the snow is doesn't seem like a far distance. In southern Maryland, we are close to the water, and within a very short drive to the mountains. It's really quite convenient, compared to other states and the drive you make from the coast to the mountains, or even the other coast.

Massanutten runs their tube hill year round

:yay: I've only been snow tubing up there and only once.

Actually, I am ski-challenged. I'm terrified of falling, so it throws my balance off. The snow tubing more than made up for it - we had a ton of fun. :yahoo:

In the summer they line the hill with some sort of astroturf looking stuff and you haul a$$ coming down that hill
