Before he can use it I need to learn/get recommendations about parental control software.

Any recommendations so he doesn't stumble onto something nasty?

Just a little late. I just threw out a copy of Net Nanny you could have had with the original license.

Net Nanny works well and updates are available frequently.

As I pointed out in other threads, make his account a restricted user, add an account for you as administrator, and turn off IPv6

You do all program installations and updates.

don't connect it to the internet where you cannot see what is going on ........... Parents are the BEST Net Nanny .......... besides boy will probably figure out how to get around any software blocker faster than you can install them ............
