...and I'm like, WTF?

It could be anywhere, really, but why is it, all you sales and marketing people, that it is decreed from on high that every retail store shall move everything once in awhile? I mean, it's happened at our Safeway.

Why do you what me to not know where the stuff I know and want is?

We found the canvas's and paint the kid needed and I didn't learn anything new about the store.

WHAT IS THE POINT???

Because the more you look around looking for what you went in for... the more you are exposed to and the more things you may end up buying as a result of the exposure.

Next question?

Because John/Jane Doe American with no common sense or willpower will wander around the store like a lost little puppy, randomly picking up things they didn't come to buy on their quest for what they did come for.

...this works on some prove-able level? I didn't buy anything extra at Joanns or at Safeway so far. My suspicion is that this is a conspiracy on the part of marketing people to justify their existence. "We have to move everything so the customer can't find it! We'll sell that brie yet!"

WTF?

...so they can show, I guess that this increases sales?

Oh... so you are going to believe her, but doubted me...:tap: Lar, it's common sense marketing 101... the longer they keep you in the store, the better chance there is you will buy more than you originally came in for. It is also the reason stores strategically place clearence items throughout the store. It tends to make a person browse the better part of the store before heading to the cash register.

....you're in on this, eh?

All I'm saying is that for me, the extra time I spend in the store is strictly trying to find the stuff I'm there for! Women I know, my mom, my youngest kid, when they shop, they walk the whole entire store any way! Vrail, she's focused on what she came for but would always stop if something caught her eye. She'd do that anyway.

You seem to be supportive of this evil?
