Obamacare, new Health Care.

For an Employee PLUS family members (only one plan offered) $490 a payday, so let's make it EASY and say $1000 a month, BUT before it covers ANYthing at all, we'd have to cover an $8000 deductible..

So the TRUE cost of our new improved health insurance is $20,000 a year.. WHO the hell can afford that?

So if you get sick enough to need it, you're probably not going to be working much, and THEN you have to find an additional 20K a year in your current budget to pay for it if you DO get sick. OR is the government going to start having Pell Health Grants, and Guaranteed Patient Loans, so you can go in debt to the government for your health care too??

This is beyond ludicrous.

Sounds expensive, but the again, I wouldn't want to be on the hook for paying for the medical expenses for a a family of four for 12K a year.

No HSA at all?

Reports I've heard in the last week or two concerning upcoming health insurance renewals -

Family member's plan with employer - husband/wife - renewal rates going up 60% for almost the same plan as now except for deductible increasing by $200

Friends with children under employer plan - rates for husband/wife increasing 30% PLUS they must now pay $170 per month PER CHILD additional

Employer Plan - $62 annual fee for each insured employee

We are just hearing the beginning of the horror stories as renewals are released this fall - spread your asscheeks and take it like a man!

Just out of curiosity, what were the rates for equal coverage last year? Or is this a different plan entirely

Not sure about your plan, but on ours the deductible does not go towards the out of pocket max.

I think I looked at Aetna last year, and nine of our docs were listed as providers. I hope that isn't the case for you.

Sorry, I was thinking FSA. I just switched from HSA to FSA.

I'm pretty sure it's $6500 for a family per year

I clarified that a little while ago. FSA tops out at $2500 a year, and carryover is pretty limited. Like within a few months of the end of the plan year, and the expense had to have taken place within the plan year. Like the HSA much better.

You've forgotten the copay for each visit, the deductible for any prescriptions (ours is $2k) and the fact that in some cases, they only cover 80% of some procedures.

You all dont think this bill was designed to help people, do you? It was engineered by politicians as another way to get in your pocketbook. And they could give a crap less if its merciless to a poor or even middle class family. Its Obamanomics at its best.

Gosh, this is awful. Maybe we should elect some people to the House end put an end to this?

Stop with blaming liberals. They're not the problem. They did what they said they'd do. The 'conservatives' sent specifically to stop it have not kept their word.

Those "conservatives" don't do chit that the voting public doesn't specifically want them to do. This is indeed OUR government and OUR representatives do what we send them to Washington to do. Maybe you and I don't like it, but obviously the majority of the voting public is very much in favor of this effed up mess or they wouldn't have voted for it.

The handful of true conservatives that manage to get elected to office either figure it out pretty quick or they lose in the next election. WE want this. WE vote for it.

No. We, the people, voted, specifically and overwhelmingly, to send a tidal wave of anti ACA reps to DC in fall of 2010, specifically and solely to repeal the ACA. We did our jobs. The people we voted for did NOT. We can be blamed for taking our eye off the prize...(old dog learns new trick)...and not keeping after them but, we sent them there to STOP IT. The GOP, lead by Boehner, ####ED US over.

Now, people are trying to make excuses and blame others, the D's, the media, whatever, for it not getting done but, we DID do our part and I am simply posting in argument to people, to remind folks, it's not the other guys; it is the people we sent to do a job that failed.

Eye on the prize.

The House did do what we the people requested and they did vote to repeal the ACA (HR 6079). How can you blame the House for the Senate not considering the measure? Maybe you should uncross your eyes (or maybe get some new glasses) so that you can see the prize.
