How about a road rally around Maryland to include Southern Maryland?

You could mix it up with Photo and Scavenger hunt road rallies!

Just a thought!

Im sure nothing is going to be done local.
VIR is a good one that id love to try with my car. Im sure I can have fun with only 120hp :)

Summit Point would probably be a better idea. The SP Main course is better suited for lower hp cars. SP is also closer to us.

Still would like to get this done locally.

If you are serious about this I would recommend checking out Welcome to Pro-Touring.com & G-Machines.com
You will find people on there that do this regularly. Unless you are willing to champion this and plan and promote it yourself it is unlikely to happen in SOMD, being a peninsula doesn't help matters. We are kind of off to ourselves.

Check out that website and dig around. There is an event called Run Through The Hills that you might be able to model it after. It will take a lot of time, money and patience but it would be worth it.

I was prepping a Miata for HPDE but after reading a few stories and seeing some YouTube videos of people encountering car-killing issues on a track, I've backed off that plan quite a bit. I'll be sticking with autocross for the foreseeable future. Just started that last year and have a ways to go before thinking I'll be up for another challenge.

They really aren't a very common occurance though. I have ran over 30 track days and have had only one brief off track excursion and didn't come anywhere near to killing my car. I am more afraid to drive on the beltway (I am serious).

Very cool!

Now that the weather is finally started to turn I am motivated to get something going again. :)

And the fun run/scavenger hunt mentioned is also a good idea especially with all the back country roads in So Md.
