As no one else seen fit to point it out yet, there are a lot of Muslims in the Philippines. Particularly in the southern islands, such that the state department warns against tourists going to those locations (or at least has in the recent past).

True..Abu Sayaff, in particular, has proven themselves to be quite vicious.. But most NGO's, including those with Christian religious affiliation, usually avoid sending their people/teams to known high-risk areas. Some, like Peace Corps, are very risk-averse when it comes to sending in their people.

There are exceptions, of course...like Doctors Without Borders.
