Disorderly Man Arrested After Getting Mouthy with Cop

At 4:25 a.m. April 5, Senior Deputy First Class (Sdfc.) Kevin Somerville was at Sheetz in California when he observed four individuals walk into the parking lot of Sheetz.

Sdfc. Somerville heard the four individuals yelling profanity at one another in a joking manner. Sdfc. Somerville asked the individual to stop cursing. The four men walked into the Sheetz. Sdfc. Somerville also entered the Sheetz.

Sdfc. Somerville again heard the group using profane language and he again asked them to stop.

One of the individuals identified as Christopher Bradley Johnson, 23 of Lusby, stated to Sdfc. Somerville he could curse if he wanted to. Several customers were inside of the business and stopped to observe Christopher Johnson’s actions and language.

Sdfc. Somerville ordered Johnson to leave Sheetz. Johnson walked towards the exit door and continued to use profanity as he walked. Johnson then stopped and yelled more profanity.

Sdfc. Somerville arrested Christopher Bradly Johnson and charged him with disorderly conduct.

 Profanity in a public place is not protected speech. The kid pretty much dared the cop to arrest him, and he got what he asked for.

I don't understand why you would stick up for this idiot who thinks he can use profanity whenever and wherever he wants to.

Watch it
Shoot, he'd have a field day if he told every kid with a foul mouth to shut up at the Waldorf Mall. :sarcasm:

Thumbs up to the cop. The kid wanted attention and he got it. :yay:

One of the things I believe is that we're in the biggest teen crisis in the history of this country.

It is protected speech. However, yelling and causing people to stop what they are doing to watch you is disorderly conduct. I'm sure Deputy Sommerville was locking the guy up for the disturbance, not the words he was using.

Using extreme profanity in a public place is a disturbance on its own. I would have no problem with it being against the law to act uncivilized in public, with a fine or even the gas chamber for punishment.

I think officer Somerville did the right thing, too many jerkoffs who think they
have the right to act stupid. Should have tasered him for good measure, but that's just my opinion.
