Gun Store Burglary With Tow Truck
Updated: Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 - 1:38 PM

SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Montgomery County authorities are investigating an early Tuesday morning burglary involving a tow truck at a gun store in Silver Spring.
Police say they were called to Atlantic Guns on the 900 block of Bonifant Street about 4 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a tow truck parked in front of the store with its engine running and a tow cable lying on the ground. The front door of the store was smashed in and the metal gate had been opened.

Police believe five rifles were taken from a locked display case inside the store.

The tow truck was reported stolen to Prince George's County police Monday morning.

Authorities are still searching for suspects.

They have (or had) some awsome guns in this shop. It is only about 4 blocks from my office, I eat at a bar across the street about every other month.

I'm sure glad the one had a scope, maybe they will actually hit their target.

Not dead yet.
I have sometimes wondered about giving the gang-bangers shooting lessons so they can stop shooting bystanders and little kids and pick each other off. Maybe the scope would help too.
