So....obesity

People are more obese because the cheapest, quickest, and tastiest options oftentimes offer very little nutritional benefit. It's also because were are a lot more stationary than we were back in the 50s. People don't get up and exercise as much as they used to for recreation unless they are obligated to.

It's a lot easier to walk over to the couch or look at whatever's happening on your phone than to take a walk to the nearest social hangout place.

That was the first thing on my list.
And I think it's a lot of it. More and more I am noticing, that stuff is in EVERYTHING.
Until RFK Jr - I had no idea there are additives in our food which aren't allowed in the SAME PRODUCTS, in Europe as in the United States. Like Red Dye 3 - which I didn't know is ALREADY BANNED in cosmetics because thirty years ago it was found to cause cancer - but it was still allowed IN FOOD.

Many years ago, when I was in college they had a humor magazine they published - one of the articles humorously conjectured that scientists have determined that everything cancer and therefore have banned everything except sugar and marijuana - and they explained that those did too, but since everything is banned, everyone will die from starvation and they couldn't ban sugar without corporations "smashing their teeth in - so they allowed marijuana, because they might as well die happy".

That's the way I see a lot of bans or lack of them, in this country - not that the FDA is in the pocket of big business, but are more or less fearful of them, just as if they were cartels - with lawyers.

I've never been a big soda drinker. I honestly don't remember the last time I ordered one, let alone bought for the house.
Oh, it's quite the enjoyable experience when mixed with a few ounces of fermented and aged barley water.
