Social media is ripping him to shreds, sharing stories of care denied by his company, etc. And I get it, it sucks.

BUT.....

A lot of them are no doubt the exact same people who "want to move to Canada because the health care is free." So they are either epically retarded or they simply don't understand how things work. It's either cheap, or it's good. It's not both.

That's the problem with people - they want top tier everything but don't want to pay for it. Or they think they need the Cadillac policy when they don't really. Also they all cheered on Obamacare but clearly it hasn't made any difference. People still gripe about high premiums and substandard care, probably more so than ever.

That's the problem with letting government and soulless corporations run your life - they suck at it and will screw you when they can. Everyone should know by now that those scumbags are out for themselves, not you. It would be nice to go back to the days when health care was simple instead of this govocorp conglomerate red tape bullshit and everyone wanting to live forever and rush to ER for a headache.

I left a Dr. because it took 2 weeks to get an appointment. Any appointment with my primary.
I have a friend who's wife has been having mini-strokes, she got an appointment with a specialist. She goes to see him in March.
I went to urgent care and hey had a nurse there and a Dr, who attended the session on TV. No BS, the Dr, supervised the nurse on CCTV
It took me a month to get an appointment for an MRI at the Pavilion in Leonardtown. I went to Calvert County.
Doctors no longer work for themselves they now belong to conglomerates who provide their insurance, their office, their nurse, and they work 9 to 5. They don't bother to find your problem they send you to another Doctor in the conglomerate. You have a problem? You meet the whole conglomerate as they send you from one to the other. You go to the hospital and this guy walks in and says I am your Doctor. You didn't pick the guy/gal, you don't know him/her . He/she is assigned to you.

Remember when family doctors made house calls?
I genuinely don't, and I can remember most of the last 6 decades. Oh, and my grandmother was the nurse for our family doctor when I was a child. He still didn't make house-calls.

Oh yeah, good ole Dr Hayes. Actually a friend of the family but he made house calls on one day of the week. I don't know how old he was at the time but he sure seemed to be in his 70s/80s. His office was right by the bridge in old Hyattsville and he always had a hotty for a receptionist/nurse. Last time I went to him, I was probably 18 or 19 and the visit and shot of penicillin cost me 2 dollars, seems to me his fee was always 2 dollars.

I had Doc Brown from when I left active duty in 96 til he quit practicing, almost 20 years. Then a couple of quiet year, then a new Doc, Chylinski. Who left after about a year and a half. Now I got to break in a new one.

I had a dentist for the last 25 years that retired last year, went to his replacement a couple weeks ago and was extremely disappointed, felt like I was talking to a used car salesman. He was upselling every effing thing and telling me how critical it was to get this and that done. Plus, this year they went to making you pay for each visit upfront and then sending in claim to insurance for you to get re-imbursed. I figured most Dentist offices were going to that, so I called prior to my appt and asked how much it was going to cost, I asked for worst case estimate to make sure I had the money..and the visit ended up twice what they quoted. Plus, took me 6 months to collect from insurance cuz they kept filling out the claim papers wrong. Probably most Dentist offices are like this but I am in the market for a new dentist since I got a bad vibe from this dentist. Does this make me a anti-dentite?

There is a Doctor Cross over at the Pavilion, an oncologist. One of the nicest Doctors I ever visited.

They say this all the time in business, engineering and honestly - everything else.

Good. Fast. Cheap.
Pick two.

Sounds like the experience I had at Neibauer 15 years ago..... After exam consultation.

You need three bridges. Going to cost 10k. If you don't get them in this year, your whole jaw could collapse
Yep, thats not gonna happen, what are my options.?
None. We offer a credit plan. (%25 interest)
Nope, that's not gonna happen. What are my options?
Are there any relatives you could ask for the money
We are done here, bye now.

Since then, I've had one bridge, and two crowns and my jaw remains fully not collapsed.

I've had good care at both Lexington Park Dentistry and Patuxent Dental. No upsell, good staff and great work.

I loved my dentist in Leonardtown, but he retired. Then I loved the next one in LP, and he retired. I've hated every dentist I've been to since then for exactly what you and GLHS said - they're like freaking used car salesmen. And I understand this hustle works with a lot of people, but not me.

And you can't even ask for legit recommendations from anyone because they're embarrassed that their dentist took them for a ride, so they want you to get taken too so they don't feel like the only dummy.
