So what’s next?

One of 47s first moves should be also to help this poor scapegoat and get him released from the liberal madness that is the NYC judicial system
Sadly, Mr. Penny has been charged with New York state charges. I don't think the POTUS can affect change on that case UNLESS it is to investigate the prosecution team to see if Mr. Penny's civil rights have been violated.

Has this question been asked yet - what happens if Trump is killed before J20th? Does Vance automatically step in or do the congress turds appoint someone? I don’t trust my government to keep Trump safe and I don’t trust the dems not to make another attempt on his life.
This is concerning.

Big question... does Thomas and Alito announce their retirements?
An excellent question. Trump didn't name his intended Supreme Court nominees this campaign as he has done in the past. It is interesting to consider. It is good to not keep clutching power past your time - consider Ginsburg and Biden.

Pretty sure if Trump is assassinated before his Inauguration that Vance will become President -elect and will be inaugurated President in Jan.

One thing is certain in the Penny case if the jury finds him guilty Hochul will not be smart enough to pardon him.

Don't know about Thomas, but Alito seems to like them luxury vacations so he is probably a good target for a "post federal" career offer. Maybe a couple $M a year to sit on a board somewhere for the next couple years.

Depends on when it happens - From Archives.gov
There is no Federally-required process to follow if a candidate who is projected to receive electoral votes dies or becomes incapacitated between the general election and the meeting of electors. However, individual States may have their own requirements that govern how electors must vote at the meeting of the electors. In 1872, when Horace Greeley passed away between Election Day and the meeting of electors, the electors who were slated to vote for Greeley voted for various candidates, including Greeley. The votes cast for Greeley were not counted due to a House resolution passed regarding the matter. See the full Electoral College vote counts for President and Vice President in the 1872 election.

We don’t know what would happen if a candidate who, dies after or becomes incapacitated between the meeting of electors and the counting of electoral votes in Congress.

The Constitution is silent on whether this candidate meets the definition of “President elect” or “Vice President elect.” If the candidate with a majority of the electoral votes is considered “President elect” before the counting of electoral votes in Congress, §3 of the 20th Amendment applies. That section states that the Vice President elect will become President if the President-elect dies or becomes incapacitated.

If a winning Presidential candidate dies or becomes incapacitated between the counting of electoral votes in the Congress and the inauguration, the Vice President-elect becomes President, according to §3 of the 20th Amendment.

Julie Kelly said on Dan Bongino's Rumble stream last night that Trump is considering Mike Pompeo as SecDef. I figured he'd be a shoo-in for SecState.

Concern should be if Sotomayor decides to step down and Biden tries to slip another judge in. With the Senate having a few independents not sure it passes.
Why? She is on;y 69 and I haven't heard of any health issues.

So what if Soda Jerk retires and Biden tries to slip in another Judge.
Who could he possibly pick that could be worse than Soda Jerk?
