So who's watching the debate tonight?

I watched, but I was also already ready for bed and I fell asleep watching it. I didn't know about Tucker 's Twitter interview - so I guess I'll have to look at it today.

Not sure I would watch anymore of them. If Donald Trump is on the ballot - I'm most likely voting for him.

Vivek looked like he was desperately trying to bring attention to himself in anyway he could *just to increase his time on screen. (which would cause people who've never heard of him to search more) I don't like Christie at all (Wolf in sheep's clothing) Gov. Burgam... who? He will fizzle out, I'm sure.
🙄
Nikki Haley SOUNDED great in some replies - but...she ALSO came across shrill and trying to make herself noticed and also... RINO Establishment Pence has no backbone - and never has so I would never vote for him. Like Tim Scott, but ... he's got such little experience, I'm not sure he can garner the support - he's still very new. Asa Hutchinson - just go away - same as Pence - *yawn* No Backbone.

I'm a big fan of Ron DeSantis, but I'm still kind of leery - he has a lot of $$ from someplace and I question that, and because he looked a little nervous. I didn't think he really had all that much time on screen last night, BUT it was a work night so I had to get to sleep, and maybe he got more time after that.

This would have been a far more accurate headline...

Republicans Debate To See Who's Going To Lose To Biden In A Landslide Mail-In Vote In Middle Of Night

U.S. — In an electrifying debate tonight, 8 Republican candidates competed for a chance to lose to President Biden in a shady landside mail-in vote in the middle of the night.

"I, Mike Pence, an experienced politician with impeccable integrity, am the best candidate to have the election stolen from me by ballot harvesters during the height of a fake pandemic in 2024," said Mike Pence. "I will lose with all the dignity and pride of a Republican. That's what America is all about."

I watched and fell asleep as well. I agree with all of your observations especially about Pence. I think the Vivek and DeSantis came out on top. Both are articulate speakers and DeSantis seems to be the most sincere. Nikki Haley, though she makes a lot of sense, I think she comes off as insincere and just saying what (she thinks) people want to hear. Her biggest point and what could get her votes is her stance on abortion. I like Tim Scott but he is like a broken record with nothing new to add to what his past interviews have revealed about him (broken home, mother worked 16 hour days, etc) He should be proud of his accomplishments but I don't think he is presidential material.
It is a scary time in this country. We have got to get this jack a$$ out of the white house and whoever does win in 2024 is going to have a lot of clean up on aisle 4. And 5.

I'm all in for Asa Hutchinson...

Ew, why?

I'm not voting for any candidate who is a Trump hater. Trump was the best president we've had in my lifetime and any politician who hates him is obviously a Nazi on the take and likely child sex trafficker.

:jet:

And that's not entirely sarcastic. There is no valid sane reason to hate Trump except that he upset the status quo and worked for We the People instead of the foreign dictators and elite moneymen. Any candidate who isn't speaking out forcefully against the Democrats bringing all these bogus criminal charges against Trump is a nonstarter with me. I won't even look at them except to sneer and bare my teeth.

The Tucker-Trump interview got over 154.7 Million views, where folks looked at at least part of it.
Fox has yet to release their viewership.

I'm not watching the debate because I can't stand any of those people except for DeSantis, therefore I don't care what they have to say. I'll try and watch the Trump/Tucker interview on Twitter, but honestly I'll probably forget and have to catch it tomorrow or something.

I watched, because, what can I say? I enjoy primary debates. I don't get this whole mentality going around where you either watch Trump with Tucker OR the debates. It is possible to watch both. We are in the 21st Century and both are readily available at anytime. I also prefer to watch things in their entirety and make up my own mind rather than being fed clips and being told who did well and who didn't etc... So my take on the whole thing was:

DeSantis - Nothing unexpected.
Vivek - I went in wanting to like him. I didn't. I think his whole game is to be Trump's choice for VP. While I like what he says, how he says it is a bit too smarmy.
Pence - Too preachy. Lots of self righteous grand standing.
Nikki - She did a solid job. I thought her position on the abortion debate was the most realistic and thoughtful. Her stance on Ukraine is 100% opposite of mine.
Christie - Nothing surprising from him. He is still a bloviating a-hole who's sole mission in life is to hate Donald Trump.
Asa - Same. He can't get over his hatred of Donald Trump.
Burgam - I was actually surprised at how much I liked him. I had no idea who he even was. He seemed to have a lot of common sense. His ending statement was a mess, but he made some good points throughout the debate.
Scott - I was really disappointed in his performance. I genuinely like the guy and I wish he'd done better.

With that said. The likelihood of any of them overcoming Trump's popularity is slim, but it is still fun to watch.

For the first time in my life, I am actually considering voting for the other side and really hoping to hear something that is an actual issue (at least for me) and not abortion, woke, and Donald Trump. I don't hate Biden, but I can't quite figure out what he's done that's helped me out at all.

Anyway. I readily admit that I'm more of a Morning Joe listener, until I get sick of Mika and change to Dr. Phil or Snapped, but honest to God - what is this great healthy economy they keep talking about? Is it somewhere else besides Maryland maybe? My landlord keeps raising my rent $100.00 per year citing everything's going up so he has to go up as well, gas...Mika says it keeps going down but that seems to change for the worse on a daily basis, groceries are insane even in the commissary...and thank the gods I put in my twenty for my health benefits - I don't how the rest of the population does it. When is this great economy going to affect me for the good and will they talk about it?

Anyway that's what I'm hoping for tonight. What are you hoping for?
Im hoping for $1.70 gas, making 12% or better on my 401, cheaper taxes.
Just like it was in Nov 2020.
If you want this again America, vote for President Trump Again.

So how does it get fixed?
You have to invest in appreciating assets. Real estate is a good field if you have the stomach to be a landlord. Some of the best advice I got from Vrai was to turn my properties over to professional management. They handle everything(for a fee). Rents get direct deposited. Home values go up over time. Sell when the timing is right and you get a nice chunk of change if you have owned the place for a few years.

Do any of them manage time shares? I hate them things.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
DeSantis - His closing was as wooden as could be. Bringing up points about FL R victory did not impress me. Should talk more about FL COVID response
Vivek - Needs polishing. Viable in '28 maybe or as SOS in the next Rep presidency. (Take that Nikki!!)
Pence - Neo - Con uses his faith as a shield. I liked him better for Prez after he finished as Indiana gov. THAT was his time.
Nikki - I really liked Nikki as a good chance for our first woman president but that Ukraine stance doesn't do it for me.
Christie - Huggy bear can go bye bye
Asa - See ya slick
Burgam - Who dat?
Scott - Biggest disappointment.

The candidates acted like petulant children, ESPECIALLY Mike Pence. Plenty of Republicans piss and moan about the boorish behavior of others but that display on that stage was absolutely asinine.

Priorities need to be:
J6 prisoners released and compensated
Southern border
Eliminate the IRS hires or convert to BP
Drill, baby, drill
Eliminate dept of Ed, use that funding as block grants to the states for school infrastructure and school choice.

So just ignore the laws of the country and allow people to run freely though the halls of the Capital with weapons to stop elections if they don't like the results? And then pay them for doing it?

Why don't you want taxes collected do you want to cheat on your taxes or put the county into more debt?

How do you plan to fund things?

Eliminate the Dept of education so everyone can be as uneducated as you and even have less understanding of the world?
