I know their are some Biases...and some real personal favorites:
Make your case: Which restaurant in Solomon's is THE BEST?

I'd offer my preference: Stoneys!
BUT...It has been a while since I spread out some visits.

Question B...which should be avoided???

Which Stoneys? Kingfisher or the Pier?

I don't really have a favorite on the Island. Most of them are okay but nothing special.

Dry Dock or CD's Cafe
DiGiavoni's (sp) I think get's an honorable mention.

the rest...

Answer to 2:

Stoneys is overpriced and very average. Pier and Kingfisher. Your question is faulted, do you want the best or the best cheap beer?

The Pier is my favorite because the food is good, the service is great and you can sit outside on the deck.

CD Cafe is wonderful.. Small and might be a wait, but you can go to the bar and have an app and a drink instead. My personal fav down there..

DRY DOCK

The crab cakes are nothing but lump and jumbo lump meat and mayo. they use no filled. they just dust it with flour before they fry/broil them.

Dry dock is my favorite, with CD's close behind. I like the Peir for the atmosphere. I think Stoneys' service has always been poor in Solomons, yea I know that the Peir are the same people. I like Catamerans for the fights and the scantily clad women who hang out there, but wouldn't eat their food if it was force fed.

With the exception of a cold beer, BS with a loose women and loud music (Pete take note) never regarded Catamarans as a place I would go for a good sit down meal with family or friends.

If you want an excellent meal (and not afraid to pay a fair price) make a reservation for Dry Dock. CD's damn good as well but when it comes to seafood, the chef at the Dry Dock has the touch. I've had the crab cakes as well as the scallops - the leftovers heated up 3 days later still good. :D

I don't go there at all. With the exception for the DC101 Biker Bash last month. I had a bracelet for free food, but I passed on it. :barf:

Every time someone visits I take or direct them to the Pier. Not the best food, but I think the overall experience is nice. Especially if you can get a nice sunset over the river and watch the gulls and osprey wheeling above and below the traffic stopped on the TJ bridge.

:yay: I would rather try to obtain nourishment through photosythesis than eat there.
