I think there would be a LOT less of them than white kids.
What we have here is a disagreement.
But there is a certain class of black male that was approached. Note there are no Wills, or Aarons, or Jordans among those young black men. They do allow the lower classes out of the ghetto, you know. Damn liberals.

In MY experience, even the middle class black kids back in Laurel knew how to box. Do you not remember when we were kids? Everything was Ali, Frazier, Sugar Ray, etc, etc. Boxing, black kids, learning the manly art, is a cultural thing, black culture.

Really? I saw kids in the street, kids in what looked like Broadway, kids in the park, kids at the bus stop, kids in what looked like crap neighborhoods. Kids who looked like thugs. Kids who looked kinda small and 'normal'. I didn't see a 'certain' class.

The way I read it, you were saying all black people would behave differently than whites, not just in Laurel.
And, I would never tell you (others, yeah) to "#### off" over your opinion. I have more respect for you than that. Must be a Calvert thing.
See any kids in khakis and a collar shirt, going off to work or school?
Anyway, we're just seeing what the "pranksters" want us to see. They aren't going to show the guys who didn't react violently. Even that one bunch where he was asking directions to the Apple store, that guy was helpful and gave directions several times. The kid had to really push to get the reaction he was looking for.
The video is racist bull#### and nothing more. Screw them and I'm glad they got their asses kicked.

That video was no shock to me. At all. In my experiences, if you and I had nothing better to do and the time and opportunity to go conduct this experiment and this kid as our guinea pig, I would predict, before we got started that, out of 10 random young black males every one of them would respond physically and that of 10 random young white males we'd get a variety of reactions from physical to nothing to burst out laughing.
If you'd like to turn it into a real study and break it down by farts, various verbal provocations and various physical stances, body languages and so forth, that would be great. And I would predict it would not change the study results.
Your position is the white kids would react the same way in all variables.
You've tried to boil this down to farts. You've tried to bring a biker bar into the equation. You're tried several different ways to say both study groups would react the same way. Vrai has tried to add in Ridge and just rough background white kids because, somehow, she knows ALL those kids in the vids are lower socioeconomic back ground kids and none of them live in a suburb. ALL I've been talking about is THAT video and changing ONE variable; white kids.
We on the same page so far? If so, we simply disagree as to the results.

See, to me, it is not race. It is culture. I am telling you. I went to school with lots of black kids of various backgrounds. ALL black males that I went to school with were taught to and expected to be able to handle themselves at an early age including the suburban black kids. It was different with white kids. Some were taught to handle themselves, some were not. Some figured it out on their own. Some never will. This, to me, is a simple cultural issue. It would not shock me for ONE second, to see Barack Obama, charmed life, prep school, most all spoiled white kids as friends, throw up the fists and shadow box with, say, Sugar Ray Leonard at a photo op and look like he'd done it before. I would fall over in shock if Dubbya did it though it would be worth the hoot to see how the college cheerleader holds his hands. Black guys are supposed to know how to box.
If they did this vid to try and paint blacks in an ugly light, they failed, miserably. You ever notice how few of Johnny Knoxville's gags were aimed at black people? If nothing else, he and his crew are smart enouhg to know that black's, and especially black males, are taught to not put up with that stupid #### and I admire that.
