Actually, I find this fascinating. Thanks for sharing. I died in a car accident not that long ago and I have found that I am a totally different person than who I was (for the better I hope). I had written it off to dying and having an "experience" shall we say. However a friend of mine has recently been arguing with me that my "experience" was just my mind playing tricks on me, which was still operating on some level even though I was technically dead. This lends more credence to his theory, but it is intriguing information none the less.

I hate to be the one who brings this up, but how does one know one is actually alive?

If we are speaking rhetorically, according to the ones who supposedly know in my case, I stopped breathing, had no heart beat, no response, etc and had to be shocked back.

If we are speaking theoretically, that brings up too many areas to cover and would be subject to debate. It also brings up individual belief systems and even possibly religious viewpoints.
