Southern Md paving and seal coating

They have a tank truck with the sealer inside. Two guys. One guy used a weedeater to edge the entire driveway while the other had a kick ass blower on wheels to pressure blow the driveway. Then they pull off hose like a fuel truck, start a small pump and pump what they need then they squeegee it.

Exactly how Marini did ours and it seemed like the right way to do it. I'll be looking to get ours done again soon.

We had Southern MD pave our driveway and I wouldn't recommend them. They got about 3/4 through and told me they underestimated the amount of material needed and it would be another $5-600 to finish. After a brief dispute, I gave in a paid the full amount since I didn't want to chance sacrificing quality. Well they put the last 1/4 on less than an inch thick anyway and a year later it was already cracking. I'd say find someone else...

They call me ... Sarcasmo
I think you will be pleased. If they end up doing it tell them you got the referral from me and I want a free seal job. TIA

They were here this evening and came in very reasonable.:yay: Less than our 1st estimate of the day.

I mean Copenhaver came out tonight for an estimate. Very reasonable, should be hearing from Seal Pros by Friday, I'll drop your name, unless it means an upcharge.

I was very satisfied. Copenhaver wanted just over $8K to do my driveway. A couple weeks later they were up the street doing someone else's. They could have cut me a break since they were already here and didn't have to move their equipment.

A year later when SealPro came they quoted $4300 for a slightly larger area because I extended the driveway about 10 feet. I worried that being that cheap it would suck. Nope, they showed up, put 4" over the new part and 2" over the old asphalt. They dug out in front of the garage and made sure the slop was right so water didn't run in. Cleaned up, staked the entrance and left.

copenhaver rocks!

copenhaver does an amazing job! i got a few quotes before having mine done and I feel like the owner was very honest and very concerned with doing the job "right." He took the time to explain what my driveway needed and why. You get what you pay for! They use dependable products unlike so many sealcoaters who go the cheaper route. i'm one happy customer that's for sure :)

i did lot of homework before choosing a company to seal my driveway. Copenhaver uses Coal-tar sealer instead of an asphalt based sealer and there is a BIG difference. Their prices may be a little higher but you most certainly get what you pay for! You’re either going to pay for it now or pay for it later in repairs to your driveway.

Pete, what did they charge you for the sealcoat?

Just sealing? I think it was $150. 4 Latin American gentlemen appeared at my house at the arranged time, cleaned it, sprayed it, squeegied, threw up a barrier and left.

How big is your driveway for only $150?

Pretty big, if I had to guess I would say 8X80 in the shape of an L.

I no doubt got a break because they did the paving but that was 3 years ago and I still get the mailer saying $150

:yeahthat: We rec'd various estimates to re-paved our driveway. We thought it needed it and other paving company's complied. Copenhaver came out and told us we did not really need a new driveway sealing it was all we really needed. They saved us a bunch of money and did an awesome job. I will definately go back to them when we need to re-coat.

Wow, that beats buying the so-called "good" stuff at Lowes and the hassle of doing it yourself for sure. I'm going to have to give them a call.

So who did you end up going with and are you satisfied? I've gotten quotes from both Copenhaver and Seal Pros. There's only $50 difference between the two, although SealPro says they have a 2yr warranty and Copenhaver only has 1yr. I think I have to edge the driveway for SealPro, though.

Any thoughts?

Same here in the thickness. They applied my driveway very thin in certain parts and it is breaking up in no time. When I called to complain, they tried to blame it on me for driving too much on my driveway! Beware of So MD Paving!
