I don't think I've ever actually set one on fire... but I have frozen many of them to the wall until such time as I could grab a shoe and beat the hell out of it by using hairspray. It stuns them and they can't move so well, but if you're not quick enough with the shoe (or other blunt beating type instrument) they can run away.
It looks like the kind that's been keeping all those pesky insects away. Doesn't appear to be "hungry" at all, lol.

Trap Door Spider It is a non-aggressive spider - usually timid but may stand up and present it's fangs if harassed. Rarely bites - but if so it can be painful.
