Does anything phase them? They're nasty! There seems to be a lot of wolf spiders around here and some other one that I see alot (black with brown marking on its back) - do you know what type of spiders those are? Sure love livin in the country!!

I always called them grass spiders, fat and fast, with babies on their back...

:lmao:

If you see one thats fairly small, nickle maybe, and brown with an inverted violen shape on its back, be very careful....I have been told the Brown Recluse doesn't live in these parts but a friend of mine almost lost his leg to on back in january...I have no idea if they live near water or not...its just an FYI thing. I have had the creeps ever since this happened. It makes a small bit that just keeps growing and growing and growing, required three trips to the ER and about 5 to the Dr and mega antibiotics. God I hate all bugs....and this sure didn't help any!

They have been imported here.....I've seen one first hand.

They are nocturnal, and will habitat your bathroom towels....

OMG.....Now i'll even be afraid to take a towel out of the vanity, maybe i'll just leave everything in the dryer.....

Thanks for the warning! I also heard that they are around here - thank God your friend is now ok. I guess I'll just continue avoiding all spiders and warn hubby.

In My Opinion
stabilize the pool then shock it.
scoop dead spiders off the top in about an hour.

I knew that moving to a house surrounded by woods would force me to confront my biggest fear - spiders! I never knew that they could float & breathe underwater. I just looked in the pool. There were about 10 spiders in there, most of them under water, and one of them looked like a big wolf spider. He appeared to be swimming, not even touching the walls, about 3 feet from the surface. :yikes:

I caught a wolf spider once on my front porch. I thought it would be funny to throw it into my huge fish aquarium and let the bass eat it. Wasn't I surprised when it swam right across the surface of the water and was out on my living room floor within seconds. Luckily I was able to re-catch it. :faint:

I grabbed a towel once, and wrapped it around me, quickly feeling a slight sting near my arm pit. I opened the towel and found a spider. TG it was nothing poisionous. :yikes:

how fast are those suckers? I have only seen one before (that I know of) but I think I just killed one last night....but he sorta just stood there and took it :roflmao: (albeit...I'm quick as a whip when I am defending myself from a 1/4-1/2 inch long spider )

bastage was in my laundry...luckily I dropped it on the floor before walking to the washer or he probably would have gotten me while I walked instead of falling out on the floor :jameo: :jameo:

Great, now my husband's gonna have to do the laundry. He may have to do all the cleaning too, in case any of them are "waiting for me" in a closet or under towels/sheets/blankets. JK, I may have gotten him to take care of the pool but cleaning the house, laundry? That's where he'll draw the line!
I still need to finish weeding our garden beds. I always wear gloves when working outside but you can bet I'll be wearing long sleeves from now on. No more farmer's tan for me!!! :killingme

Better check the finger slots of the gloves before you slide them on

Was it this thing? This is a hunstman spider, commonly mistaken for a wolf spider, which is more elongated.

Wolf spiders have a bad bite, btw....huntsmen spiders are agressive as well. My Dad stuck his finger out at one in the bathroom sink once....it jumped on his finger and liked to gave us both a heart attack. lol
